Convenient location right outside the bus stop Baerenplatz, or a short walk from Kreuzlingen Hafen station, a bit longer walk (different direction) to Kreuzlingen station - both with direct trains to Konstanz for onward travel in Germany, as well as to destinations in Switzerland. The single room was very small and practically no storage space as the turning circle of the bathroom door takes up the entire room. Table is just a shelf in the corner. Bathroom is a bit more spacious, good shower water pressure. Wifi was functional and fast. Plug sockets were in awkward positions but at least flush with the wall rather than the recessed style, so will fit the European type C plug without a Swiss adaptor. Breakfast is an additional CHF 10, as mentioned by others all dishes are vegan, but a good selection and tasty. Restaurant only open for dinner once a week or something like that, but there is a small shopping centre opposite with supermarkets.

Klein aber fein! Vor allem sollte man sich auch als nicht Vegetarier die ausgezeichnete ( excellente) vegetarische Küche ausprobieren. Ein Erlebnis!!!!

Hotel was very clean and well-maintained. Rooms were good - unfortunately our room did not have A/C and it was incredibly hot as our room was in a dead-zone for air movement. There was also no fridge in the room to keep cold drinks to combat the heat. Would recommend the hotel, but know what you’re getting into.

Charming hotel with a friendly hotel
We book a one night stay at the Hotel Swiss. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and the room was very large, clean, and comfortable. There are a couple restaurants nearby but I would suggest taking a 15min walk to old town Konstanz for more options. The breakfast was vegetarian, as the hotel has many awards from PETA and other sustainable energy organizations. The breakfast buffet was quite large and tasty. I didn't feel short. Hanged without bacon or meat products. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a vacation to the Bodensee.

Convenient, comfortable and friendly.
Friendly, helpful staff, spotless and comfortable hotel in an excellent location. We used the hotel as a base for visiting the old town (a 15 min walk downhill into Germany) and for daytrips around the area. Parking was convenient for our small vehicle. Wifi excellent. We would stay again. No English language station on multi channel TV was only and very minor negative. Air con in our room a huge plus.

this is a vegan hotel?
great hotel. looks amazing. limited parking. staff was very helpful. breakfast was interesting considering everything was vegan. most items were tasty but not very filling for those not used to the diet. only a few minute walk to the lake

Beware....
While this small, family run hotel is pleasant and fastidiously clean with an all vegan breakfast and restaurant only, it should nonetheless be mentioned that the economy room, albeit a "broom closet" with adjacent bathroom at 5 sqm or 53 sqft should not be rented to unsuspecting guests. Not enough room for a suitcase to be opened, poor, if any, low wattage lighting, a very narrow single bed without night table, nor lamp to read by, should be enough warning to any potential guest wishing to stay in a single room for what appeared to be a reasonable cost in this quaint Swiss city on Lake Constance and next to it's much larger cousin, Konstanz in Germany on the same lake. An upgrade to a regular single at additional cost to me , almost 4 times the economy size room !!!, was impossible as the hotel was apparently sold out. A refund should have been offered as space was abundant at larger hotels in the vicinity, but was not, as it was prepaid months earlier thinking that the advertised size of 5 square meters was an error in Hotel.com's advertisement. While the hotel is in some ways above average, the property should not be allowed to advertise this prison cell like accommodation at ANY cost and I would challenge Hotel.com to scour their vast array of properties and rooms worldwide to come up with one of equal size and thus hope that any potential visitor to the Hotel Swiss in Kreuzlingen very carefully considers any type of accommodation at this property.

Nice hotel in the downtown area
Very nice, clean and cozy boutique hotel in the middle of the town. Staff were very nice, helpful and friendly specially Patrick. He would go out of his way to help. Very delicious vegan breakfast and I'm not vegan either! My room was somewhat cold but in Europe you can't really adjust the temperature anyways. Will definitely go back to the same hotel.

A two part review......
Let’s be honest, hotels in the Germanic part of Europe are never great. A double bed made up of two singles is the norm [how do they cuddle in a bed like that… ?], there is almost never coffee in the room, uniform light brown beach effect woodwork with garish carpet is not out of place for the Germanic eye. This hotel is not far away from that. The room /was/ comfortable, the bathroom was also pleasant. The Wi-Fi worked. All ok. No complaints. However, and this is the main thing, the food was excellent. This was the reason we were there. This is a 100% vegan hotel. We met the chef who wrote the book who owns the hotel. The Friday evening “gourmet” menus was both excellent and excellent value. The range and quality of the food and wines, 100% vegan, was impressive. The a la carte menu on the Saturday was equally impressive. Breakfast was monumentally magnificent. The staff complimented this with a friendliness that was genuine rather than American and added a few details that showed they were thinking about their guests rather than simply turning the handle of hospitality routine. They knew we were a three, including our Kleine Bohne, so there was a high chair waiting and a separate plastic bowl and glass just for her. Not astonishing things, but they were there, rather than our having to ask. Foresight makes a difference. If you’re vegan / vegan curious there is no reason not to go there.

Vegan hotel convenient for lake and Germany
Very pleasant vegan hotel, with a great breakfast offering, situated quarter of a mile into Switzerland. A five minute walk and you're into the bustling town of Konstanz, with much to see and do among with the other throng of tourists. Stick on the Swiss side however, and you are amongst locals, with an easier pace of life and pleasant walls along the lakeside. Room faced onto the High Street, and traffic noise was a major issue, given that it was high summer, aircon isn't fitted, so windows had to be open. At least a fan was provided. With the windows closed, the room was acceptably quiet though. For eating out, it is much cheaper to walk down the hill into Germany, and it is abundantly clear that tourists vote with their feet on that one. Stay here for a quality hotel, away from the masses of tourists, but still close enough to nip over the border into Germany for spending!

comfortable room & a good size! We had a three course meal there on our first night, tasty & enjoyable. The room comfortably fit an additional cot, and the linin for the cot was specific to babies. Which was great as I've stayed in hotels that just folded a blanket multiple times & then it's too heavy for a small baby. In our room the bathroom had no door (the toilet does) .. I stayed there with my husband so no problem but would have been very awkward if I stayed there with some one I'm not so familiar with as you can see the person shower. All in all, an enjoyable stay.

Great stop off for business, the hotel is ideally located at the centre of Kruzlingen so perfect for going out for something to eat and drink. The hotel staff were all very friendly and polite. The rooms were spotless and had a nice power shower. Overall a great stay for a reasonable price.

Good cosy hotel conveniently located in 15 minutes walking from Konstanz banhoff and port. Lot of shops are nearby. I would stay here again. As a warning - hotel serves vegan breakfast which might be a problem for non-vegeterians (e.g. there was no milk). Though food was generally OK.

I don't want to sound like a whiner, but for the high price we paid, we were expecting a nice entrance or lobby area, and/or even a slightly larger room would have been nice... That being said, this is a very nice hotel, very clean, and a great staff! Just be warned that the breakfast buffet (which WAS very tasty) is a Vegan buffet, so you won't find the usual breakfast fare - if that is what you like or are expecting.

The hotel was easy to reach by bus from Konstanz Station. It was very clean and nicely decorated especially the bathroom. My room was up in the eves so had a very low ceiling and some beams through the ceiling. I am only 5'3" so only banged my head once. Anyone taller should ask for another room. Staff was very friendly and kindly drove me to the nearest station for my next train journey. Not much around the area although there is a restaurant almost next door. The vegan breakfast was interesting and there were enough choices not to feel hungry.

Ideal gelegen. Man kann einiges Anschauen ohne Auto. Z.b Mit Schiff auf Insel Mainau. Zu Fuss nach Konstanz in die Altstadt zum bummeln shopping und zum Abschluss in eines der vielen Restaurant mit Gartenwirtschaft. Hotel Ideal gelegen neben einem kleinem Park. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Vegan auf den zweiten Blick
Hotel und Service in Ordnung. Jedoch wird das Hotel ausschließlich vegan geführt. Darauf wird leider in der Hotelbeschreibung / Info nicht hingewiesen. Wem das nichts ausmacht, der bekommt ein gutes veganes Frühstück.
