Dirty, broken-down, noisy dump

Posted Sep 24, 2016
Pros: Leaving
Cons: The whole thing needs to be completely renovated - it looks unsafe structurally on the inside, and the rooms are musty and dirty.
My husband and I booked this hotel because of the price... We showed up & were horrified to see the room conditions - mold near the air vent, a stained and broken couch, disheveled appearance, shoddy cleaning job, and furniture, paint, and accessories that looked like they hadn't been updated since the 1960s. It was scary. There was no elevator leading to our room, and the halls had ceiling beams that were sagging. There were cracks in the walls, paint peeling everywhere, and the room smelled really old and musty. Knowing I couldn't sleep in a place like this, we quickly booked with the Rimonim Galei Kinnereth which ended up being MUCH better!! The names are very similar, so please be careful when booking online. Thank God we were able to find a room for that night and we did get a refund from the hotel due to the poor conditions, but I would really encourage fellow travelers to go with a hotel that has a higher rating. Finding yourself in need of a hotel the same night in a foreign country is an unenviable position!

Nice Hotel with top notch breakfast

Posted Jun 1, 2016
Pros: Everything
Location: Beautiful location with ample car park. Out of town yet near the center with good bus transportation. The Tiberias Hot Baths are 5 minutes walk away.
Rooms were clean although showed some ageing, bathroom was OK. Nice view from window. Breakfast was lavish with lots of vegetables and delicious.Didn't use the beach but went to Hamei Teveria (Tiberias hot baths) which are complimentary to the rooms. Also, used other facilities at the baths and got a 20% discount as being a customer of the hotel. Overall VERY pleased with my stay and would definitely come back, recommend to family and friends.

Older hotel to be apreciated

Posted Apr 13, 2016
Pros: Friendly staff, great view (Golan Room), lobby and breakfast and breakfast area. Great parking.
Cons: New or remodeled furnishing in room. Beach area and close landscaping was closed and could be more irrigated.
Location: Hot springs, ride around lake, Ein Gev Fish restaurant, Tabgha and Capernaum a must see/experience. Ride up by Switzerland of the Galilee.
First impression of room was that the furniture was dated, but I appreciated the hotel the more I stayed there. Dated is not bad or worn, just some getting used to. The hot springs are within walking distance but you have to cross the street. The hotel is not far outside Tiberias which I came to appreciate very much as opposed others in a busy location. My wife and I appreciated the Tiberias hot springs' 3 pools very much.

Hotel close to Mineral Pools Spa

Posted Mar 18, 2016
Pros: Proximity to Hot Springs Spa, view of Lake Kinneret, Extravagant buffet breakfast.
Cons: The Front Desk could be trained to not cast aspersions of criminal intent on Expedia's customers. Confusion benefits the two companies?
Location: I can't talk now I'm so upset recounting the nightmare!
I booked a 3 beds room here for myself and my two sons, for Sunday to Monday, to relax and enjoy their website ad of women's only hours at the spa from 4-8pm Sunday evenings. At 5pm checkin, I was told there were no such hours. I was also told that although I booked a ROOM for three people only two of us could stay there. Expedia website states rates are per ROOM per night which caused confusion with hotel policy saying rates are per PERSON per night. I paid extra for room with 3 beds for 2 adults with 2 children or 3 adults. We didn't know what to do! The hotel made one of my sons LEAVE AT 11PM AT NIGHT!!!! I feared the hotel might have us arrested! I couldn't sleep! My son slept outside of the hotel overnight. I was treated like a criminal. The hotel could've been understanding of the confusion by Expedia but they refused! This was a bait and switch between Expedia and the hotel! Perhaps the hotel benefits by extracting more money at front desk last-minute check-in rates under similar circumstances to mine? Outrageous, suspicious, nightmarish experience! And no women's-only hours, as advertised, to boot!, the very reason I chose to book there!

Hotel is very old and outdated & poor facilities

Posted Sep 1, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
The hotel is very old and 0 maintenance is done. Cracks on the walls and leaks in the bathrooms etc... The 'private beach' is a docking bay for boats where they have put a small section closed off for 'beach' use - barely the size of a pool and not exclusive to the hotel. The pools do not belong to the hotel and are part of a public hot springs facility which can get very full. Also the beach closes at 5 and pools at 4 which then leaves you with nothing to do there. The rooms are in poor condition and despite requesting a double bed, they gave us (both rooms) 2 single beds pushed together. When complaining, their solution was to give us one single sheet for the 2 beds. They claim to have an entertainment section downstairs but when we tried to go there it was closed. The price is simply not worth it.

Very Decent Hotel

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: The rooms
Cons: The staff
Location: The water sports by the kineret
I was overall very satisfied with the actual hotel. The rooms were very large and comfortable. Also the grounds were beautiful and the buffet breakfast was great. However the staff with the exception of the manager were very disappointing. The security made you feel as you were held hostage there. Eventually an issue arose as we had more than the maximum people allowed in the room. As I had already upgraded from a standard room to a suite I was unaware that I was over the maximum. They charged me an extra one hundred seventy dollars and threatened to call the police if I don't pay. Also some of the staff made some racist comments which was very disappointing.
