Quiet Stay
This was a nice little town away from the hustle and bustle of Bellagio and Varenna, but also an easy ferry ride to either. Our room was in the annex building which was a little difficult to find as it was getting dark. Had a nice little balcony overlooking the town. Room was simple, but clean and had everything we needed for a one night stay. Breakfast is not included, but they do have a cafe where you can eat. Only had coffee so can't speak for how the food was.

We stayed in the annex. Room was fine and quiet.Not large . Bed very comfortable . We opted for breakfast- continental style. Enjoyed our stay.Easy to get to ferries to visit other towns on the lake.

location directly on the lake with breathtaking views cleanliness some of the staff weren't the friendliest or willing to assist much. private parking garage, although not integrated into property building, was a big plus very centarl location with access to cafes, restaurants and shopping and ferry to travel around the lake.

Hotel Du Lac is perfectly located on the Lake. It sits on a beautiful square which has entertainment each day. There is a wonderful infinity pool on the rooftop for relaxation.

The property was in a very convenient location with beautiful surroundings, however the room lacked facilities such as a kettle and the air-conditioning vent pointed directly at the bed head and was quite noisy as well. Overall, average.

This was a wonderful little hotel right on the waterfront. The view from my room was spectacular! Service was friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. I would defiantly stay here again!

The staff/owner is not very welcoming. We had two reservations and one explicitly for a family room with two adults and child. He insisted on billing for an additional guest - until we showed the reservation made which proved we had booked and paid for three. Leading to the next point- this was a ‚book now, pay later‘ reservation but the hotel pulled the full amount without any communication or approval several weeks later. Lastly, one room had low and slanted ceilings- in bedroom and bathroom which lex. To multiple head collisions with the ceiling. The hotel also attempted to double charge the garage. One last point, the advertisement/promo photos are deceiving. Very disappointed. I am a gold member and this is a first.

We loved our stay at Hotel Du Lac! We really enjoyed being in Mennagio and the location right on the main square was wonderful. We had easy access to restaurants and the main waterfront area. Our room was clean and our balcony looked right out on the square and the the lake. We were even treated to a local concert on our last night which we could listen to from our balcony. The air conditioning was a welcome relief from the hot summer days/nights and the hotel was located very close to the ferry dock so it was easy to get to other places on the lake that you would want to visit. I would definitely reccommend staying here! We can't wait to return!

Perfect location!
If you are going to Como, stay in Menaggio! Not as crazy busy as Varona and Bellagio. The Hotel was in a perfect location above a square, right on the lake, with cafe's and restaurants and shops. Beautiful views of the lake! Great service, super friendly staff. We had a lake view room, it was spacious and comfortable and clean, and great AC! The rooftop pool is tiny but a nice addition for a quick dip on a hot day.

An older property in a great location. Has "Old World Charm". Situated on the main Piazza in Menaggio with plenty going on all the time. Beautiful view of the Lake. Close to all the ferries. Restaurant and bar on the property definitely a plus. We included the breakfast. Only criticism is that it was the same every day. Some variety would have been nice.

The hotel was great. However it was not the same one we booked. We had booked Hotel Du Lac in Menaggio and what we got was La Dependence. There was no issue with it as such but they need to advertise the right hotel.

The hotel pre-charged us for the whole stay on the morning of our visit long before we arrived which was not expected. They charged a different credit card to the one i wanted to use but they did refund us and charge us again on the correct card when we complained. The car park is 100m away in a secure car park. The room was very basic for the price of the room compared to other similar hotels and therefore disappointing. The bed was hard and the bathroom old fashioned. There were no tea and coffee making facilities and no availability when we asked. Apparently some damage had been done in the rooms when they previously provided them but they were available in the hotel opposite. Every drink and item of food bought in the hotel cafe was expensive. There appeared not to be a mirror in the bedroom and when I queried this with reception they said it was on the wardrobe door but it was apparently inside the wardrobe on the door which we hadn't opened.

Lovely little hotel right on the main square in Menaggio. The tourist office, gelato shop, restaurants and small shops are outside the hotel. Our room had a lovely view of Lake Como. It’s a short walk to the ferry terminal and to take a historic self guided walk around town. Helpful, friendly staff.

We stayed 4 nights for our honeymoon. The second to last night it rained and our rooom (403) had major leaking from the balcony above. Our bed was soaked as were we. In the morning we told the owner and he said he didn’t have anymore rooms and we had to stay in the same room again. When we got back to the room the nightstands were moved and the bed pushed up against the wall. The chandelier that also was dripping water was still above the wet mattress that had new sheets on it. The other solution was the bath towel carpets they placed. It rained again overnight and we got wet again. Not the best honeymoon. The owner also had the nerve to joke that it’s the first time we got to shower in bed. No discount, no free bottle of $5 wine, nothing. The view was nice and that’s about it. The walls are paper thin also, when people closed their doors it was like they were slamming it in your room. The cleaning station is outside the rooms too and she comes around 7am slamming all the cabinet doors and wakes you up.

Avoid, worst customer service I've had in my life. 35 days before checkin my wife and I endup in the hospital with a life threatening condition that requires surgery, I call to the hotel offering to pay them extra so that they postpone our reservation for a month or two. First they wouldn't even respond to my calls and messages, after one week I managed to get through to somebody called Luigi, he told me it's not their problem and even though I was calling them 35 days in advance it was not in their interest to accommodate my ask.

We had the most fantastic views out of our room 504 in the Annex La Dependance. It had a cozy balcony overlooking the lake which you could sit out on Looking out over the rooftops which even have a view from the shower! Great service and very quaint. The room actually felt more modern than expected.

While some of the staff was quite arrogant, others were really kind. Location is perfect with some of the room with great view over the town and lake! Parking was easy, safely tugged away within easy walking distance!
