Customer Service should be important to all!

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Not much for the price paid.
Cons: Customer service!!
Location: Its location near Store Bay, Pigeon Point and the airport.
- From arrival it didn't go well, the guard at the entrance greeted us with - What is the purpose of your visit? Not a good day! or Welcome to Coco Reef. - Got to the entrance and the bellhop ignored us and went to help the tourist in the car that pulled up after us. So as locals, we had to carry our own bags apparently. -First night got a visit from a cockroach, had to kill it unfortunately. It was left outside the door to the room and to my surprise it stayed there for 3 days. How is that possible ??? -The restaurant waitress seemed more interested in each other than actually attending to the clients in the restaurant. A smile wouldn't hurt, if you don't like your job, find ways of making it better or changes jobs all together. Lets just say its a far stretch from the other resorts on the other islands of the Caribbean.

Lagoon makes it worth it

Posted Jul 29, 2015
The public area are very nice. The rooms are aged and the service is average, but what sells the hotel is the location and in particular their private lagoon. Very relaxing lagoon and kid friendly. Resort has many restaurants and stores nearby. Adjacent to airport.

Boring breakfast. No wifi

Posted May 22, 2015 on Hotels
The part I was most disappointed about was the hot buffet breakfast, I only paid for it expecting a traditional style trinidadian breakfast. Then after I complained about it, they told me only on the weekends they offer that. Was never offered an extra breakfast on the house or anything to make my experience better after being disappointed. Also there is No Wifi!!!!! Only in the lobby and you have to pay for it!

Great hotel for being with small kids.

Posted Apr 30, 2015 on Hotels
Place is really great if you travel with little kids. Lagoon is very clean, calm, clean soft sand, shallow waters give enough room even for smallest ones to enjoy the sea. You can have really convenient (and good) buffet option right on a beach in case you don't want to spend too much time for lunch. Hotel staff super-friendly and helpful, trying their best to sort out any issues you might have, even if it is your own fault. The only problem I've got there is internet. In Trinidad you can expect to have free wifi even on public beaches, while even phone reception was pretty poor inside rooms, not even mentioning mobile internet. Wifi in room is NOT available. That is little strange for 2015 reality. However I'd still come back if i know that I wouldn't desperately need internet (I needed it this time, so it happened to be major issue for me)

Tired decor and poor service spoils a great beach

Posted Apr 3, 2015 on Hotels
Beautiful beach, very safe, clean, warm. Lunchtime BBQ on beach and dinner in restaurant top class. 50% of staff really nice, kind. But 50% bored and disinterested. We purchased a room with a beach and ocean view. We got a view but not of the beach. Complained to reception, who sent a supervisor, and then manager. Nothing they can do. No apology. Clearly many rooms exist with this great view. Lovely trip to the rainforest and no mosquito bites. Equally nice trip on a boat to go snorkelling, and wonderful fish and coral. Dive school excellent and right there on the hotel beach. It was my birthday and my Wife ordered a cake. It was huge and delicious. However it disappeared faster than we were eating it! It must have served 30 slices, we had about 8 and it was "gone". Glad we went, great holiday, would recommend going but at this price the hotel needs to do better.

Coco Reef - A small Touch of Paradise!

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: The convenience of everything >>> pool, beach, drinks, drinks on the beach, entertainment, local restaurants, casino all as close as you need them.
Cons: Management needs to significantly improve on the WiFi signal strength thru-out the hotel including rooms as well as the TV stations signal strength
Location: Wander out into Crown Point and pick a place for dinner. Many choices all close by. Casino & Golf course nearby and Store Bay for water trips to Bucco
Great hotel. We have been there many times (over 5) -- from Canada. My wife and I (both over 60) just love the overall experience of the place morning, noon, night and everything in between! The breakfast is great! The beach facilities are just awesome! In the evening we wander out into Crown Point and pick a place for dinner. Many restaurants to choose from, all within a short walk. And a Golf course just down the road by taxi. Or a short walk or taxi to Pigeon Point Beach. And close to the airport so no long drive. Fly in early and go to Store Bay for lunch. However we missed Sunday School in Bucco with regrets :)

Overpriced resort with very poor service

Posted Dec 17, 2014 on Hotels
The price is exorbitant for what you get. The service was surly and the wait to check in at reception extraordinarily long. The beach was private and reception area pleasant - but disappointing there is no free wifi at such a priced hotel. Guest Services was never attended, and staff weren't knowledgable about local area. Would NOT recommend the hotel. Better value elsewhere.
