Great location but beach was weak.

Posted Feb 4, 2016
Pros: Location, breakfast buffet
Cons: Being able to leave the beach, better kayaks and more water craft, better nightly entertainment
Location: Great location for eating out. We ate in a different restaurant every night and they were all good and within a few minutes walk.
Hotel was in a great location for walking to restaurants. Several things in our room were broken or missing but the staff was nice and attempted to fix and replace them. Be warned however - the beach is entirely enclosed by walls on either side so it is impossible to walk along the beach without exiting the hotel and walking about 1/2 mile to the next nearest access. We felt like we were in prison! Dive shop was hardly open so we couldn't use the kayaks as often as we wanted to.

Tired and Needs Complete Refresh

Posted Jan 15, 2016
Pros: The staff were friendly. The location was great. The lagoon was lovely.
Cons: A complete refresh of the rooms.
A deluxe ocean view on second floor turned out to be mostly a view of palm trees, lawn, lagoon and....obscured in the distance, an ocean. It was dirty with bugs in the room. The towels were gray not white. Amenities were two small tubes of shampoo/conditioner; two tubes of body lotion; two small bottles of water and a roll of toilet paper. There was not even a box of tissue in the room. Coco Reef is a 20 year old hotel and is in need of a complete refresh. It was a tired and dated experience. There was even a hole in the bedspread.

Great hotel with wonderful staff

Posted Jan 12, 2016
Pros: Staff, quiet, setting, beach and location
Cons: maybe a little upgrade to the external and a little variation to the lunch time menu
Location: Location was great, very close to the airport but we didnt hear a plane!! a couple of good restaurants nearby, and a nice walk to pigeon point nearby
Great hotel with a dramatic, long winding, tree lined drive. The intial impact is wonderful with great views directly out to the beach and the sea. Reception are very welcoming, in fact staff across the board are very attentive and make it their personal mission to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The room was maybe a little dated but very clean and certainly big enough. Try for an ocean front room on the first floor for the best views. We had the bed and breakfast which was great and allowed us to get out and sample the other restaurants when we felt like it, there are a couple in walking distance and 5/6 a short taxi away. Breakfast is great, everything you want and more and lunch can be had at the grill down on the beach, we had the room service a couple of times and found no drop in standards. If anything, it would have been nice to have daily variations in the lunch time menu, but thats the closest i can get to criticism. Overall great quality. We had two weeks over Christmas and New Year and loved it. Mostly English:)/British and Trinidadians the hotels beach was quiet and very safe for children and funky enough for adults. Were telling everyone to get here, and we might be persuaded to try again next New Year:) well see Thanks Coco Reef

I appreciated the 'on the beach' feel.

Posted Dec 15, 2015
Location: Great options would be: cycling (rent a bike nearby); hiking - scenic areas on the shortline just beyond the airport; snorkeling and reef viewing.
I had not felt so relaxed on a loooong time! The peaceful beach and scenery allowed for the children to feel free to explore. I even fell asleep - right there on a yellow lounge chair, beneath a coconut tree canopy. My little one even questioned: "mom, do people come to the beach to sleep?" - it was that relaxing for me! I also enjoyed the warmth of the staff; service with a smile - even while on the beach, we were greeted with impeccable cocktail service. The breakfast mmm! - variety, ambiance, and a delightfully enjoyable meal. Thank you Coco Reef. I will come again.

Nice hotel right on the beach

Posted Nov 30, 2015
Pros: Direct prviate beach access, service is excellent, location of the hotel, cleanliness of the rooms and facilities, beach service ( drinks/ water etc).
Cons: The rooms are dated (though very well kept and extremely clean); no a/c in common areas ( restaurants, lobby etc). Lighting in rooms is very poor.
Location: Lots of restaurants - La Cantina and Dillons in particular are good. Mini mart, pharmacy, bars also in walking distance.
The hotel is good value for money. Being one of the few hotels in Tobago right on the beach makes it a winner in my book. In addition, the location of the hotel in walking distance to many restuarants etc is a huge plus as it saves on having to rent a vehicle.

Over priced

Posted Nov 30, 2015
Pros: The rooms were nice. Breakfast was included in our stay.
Cons: Dining is poor and expensive!
Location: The hotel is on the beach. There was nothing else within walking distance.
The rooms were large and roomy for four adults. The most disappointing part was the distance to the rooms when we requested to be close to the lobby where the overpriced restaurants were. After arriving late in the afternoon, we got settled in our room without help from a bellman. The walk was lengthy especially traveling with luggage and an 82 year old. Though we were very hungry, the restaurant did not open till 7:00 pm. There were no other options within walking distance so we sat down at 6:30. The buffet was ready but we could not eat till 7. At 7 the waitress promptly came to offer us a drink. The only option on the buffet was one Mexican fajita and vegetables for $30 USD. We should have known it was poor since we were the only ones eating there the entire evening! Service was slow and food was poor!

Thank you for your feedback. The unit that can accommodate four adults is a two bedroom garden villa which is a self catering cottage and is located beside the main building of the resort. Although the two restaurants on property have definite meal times, room service is available from 7am until 10pm daily with a variety of menu options.. Menus in both restaurants are created based upon fresh ingredients and change daily. Tamara's is a formal a la carte dining option while Bacchanal's Bistro is a buffet style dining option. We apologize for the slow service you experienced during your visit and will utilize your comments in our effort to improve.

Very comfortable hotel in Tobago. Central location to restaurants and lounges. Private beach is amazing. The rooms are a bit dated but overall nice. Be careful of the hidden fees and their cancellation policies. They can be pricey.

Hotel com boa estrutura, principalmente na praia. Para jantar é necessário usar trages elegantes e este é um ponto fraco devido ao calor do lugar

geht so
