Overall as advertised. If you like it quiet, the beach lodge is smaller and has a private beach. If you're more social the Headwater Lodge has the bar and access to the larger public beach. Both are meticulously decorated and have excellent continental breakfast, and of the dozen or so staff I met at both lodges I didn't run across one who didn't take their job seriously. **Note: We visited in February without a vehicle (admittedly the exception rather than the rule) and we did find it somewhat difficult with the resort being 15 or so minutes from town and not offering dining on site other than pizza. We made it work and it's my understanding that in peak season this wouldn't have been a problem and we would have had meal options available. Not a deal breaker by any means. Excellent property.

We loved everything about our stay at Middle Beach Lodge. Everybody are really nice and Jess from front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Room was amazing with great views. This will be our go to place whenever we visit Tofino.

OMG!!! Feel almost selfish in writing this review. This place is a hidden gem. Property is flawless. Groomed trails everywhere. Panoramic views. Loved it. Housekeeping is spotty, but that woud be the only potential issue.

The restaurant should have more of a variety of food , not just one option. Because the road is very twisty they should have a sign saying that your coming up to the turn .

Beautiful location, lacking some character
What a beautiful location, we stayed in a cabin overlooking the ocean and it was amazing. Loved the cabin and spending time on the balcony. Good location for exploring Tofino, easy drive into town. The hotel itself and communal spaces were the let down. Again, the main space was done up really nicely with a beautiful view of the sea, but it just lacked any atmosphere. There was no music or life to the space and the bar closed at 9pm. It felt quite stale to us, but possibly well suited to an older couple (most other guests were!). The "deluxe" breakfast was very basic and would say deluxe was a stretch! Just basic bagels and croissants. Would still recommend the hotel, but with some tweaks it could be so much better!

This is a spectacularly situated lodge. We needed to cut it short because of the road closure, but I wish we could have stayed there for much longer. Staff was super helpful, the room and the ocean view was amazing, the grounds were stunning and I especially liked the triple trail system that was part of the property and the beach access. Overall highly recommended in every aspect.

You have to be very careful when you booking stander room or other type of rooms. Stander room is way too small and have nothing in there. No chairs no table no TV no any small appliances. Just a queen size bed that you can sleep on.

Great location with a great view of the beach and ocean and hiking the area- great tide pools nearby with starfish & sea anemones. Room was clean , very small not a lot of room to put stuff, banged up a lot ( damage to furniture- old) dated bathroom & old but it worked) loud when people were outside of room could hear everything people said outside the entrance to the temporary reception lodge . If I were to stay again I would book a room not so close to the entrance ( too noisy ) I did enjoy the stat

Five stars!!!!
This place is nothing short of amazing. Absolutely stunning views from all angles. We splurged for the Treehouse but the views from the adults-only lodge were just as stunning. It seems as if you can’t go wrong with a stay here. Food was amazing, staff was friendly and accommodating. Would love to come back to Tofino and would definitely stay here again.

This is a well-positioned property at which I have stayed twice, once 15 years ago and once this year. The single room I had could really have used a chair, or something to put clothes on (no hanging space anywhere), to sit on to put your shoes on, maybe put your pack for sorting through.

We were upgraded to a beautiful Tree house (66) suite due to some renovations in the main building. The West coast decor is perfect for the setting and fit in with the feel and design of MBL. The staff were ALL very friendly, helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us for Dec 31st dinner. My father joined us for dinner as was elated that some of the staff speak French and one was even from his small hometown in Quebec. It was the perfect getaway and made our family visit extra special. A big THANK YOU to your amazing staff. We will be back again soon.

We will not be staying at this property again. The road conditions to enter this property were atrocious. There were a large number of huge potholes which could potentially damage the bottom of a car. The rooms were very small with very few amenities (no TV, iron, chairs to sit on, no place to put luggage besides on bed) Two people could not pass each other in the room.

Hello Helena,Thank you for your feedback. In response to your feedback of the road that leads you to our beautiful property, Mackenzie Beach road. It is unfortunately not owned by the property and is owned by the district. This is an ongoing issue for guests and all frequent commuters that have to go down this road. Our maintenance department maintains the road from Bella Pacifica campground onwards towards our Lodge. Please feel free to give feedback, concerns or questions directly to the district. The email is office@tofino.ca. In relation to your feedback of your room. You were staying at our adults only lodge, which is advertised as a standard room and that you had booked for your stay with us. They do not feature televisions or telephones as they encourage guests to disconnect from media and technology and really immerse themselves in the beauty and nature of the west coast. We do have irons available for guests to use at their request from the front desk. I am sorry if your unit on this occasion didn't have a luggage rack in the unit as the standards rooms are supposed to have one in them. We do however have other units available across the property that do feature more amenities such as a television, kitchen facilities etc. We also encourage guests to phone the lodge directly and speak to one of our front desk agents who are able to give guests a full description of units and what would cater best to each individual guest. We hope although the road wasn't ideal and the room wasn't on this occasion to your liking that you had a wonderful time in Tofino and at our property and really got the opportunity to get lost in the beauty of this place.Kind Regards Emily Middle Beach Lodge
