"Top garden and staff"
We chose this hotel because of the garden and it didn't disappoint! It was well-established, dating back hundreds of years, and is looked after - a great space for the kids to let loose... and a welcome patch of green. The staff were very friendly and attentive and went the extra mile to help. We loved our stay here and will choose this hotel again next time we come to Tokyo.

Hotel New Otani Tokyo, The Main

"Nice old style western hotel"
I stayed in the New Otani Main which is the oldest of three hotels on the property. It is a older western style hotel with lots of shopping and restaurants within the hotel. The hotel staff were courteous and professional though I did not feel that the staff was up to the very high standard of other fine hotels I've stayed at in Tokyo (Capitol Hotel Tokyu, Imperial Hotel). Be aware that the restaurants in the hotel are pricy. The first night I went to the chinese restaurant which was mediocre and very overpriced. The second night I ate at the Sky restaurant which is the rotating restaurant on the top floor. Good quality food is served buffet style. I was a little disappointed with the views - this is really due to the location of the hotel, not the design of the restaurant. I had a chance to walk through the other hotels which are newer than the Main. There is a small but nice Japanese garden on the property. Overall, I felt that the hotel was a good value option at $280 USD.

"Nice hotel, convenient for visit to Odaiba"
Spent two nights here at the end of our 10-day trip to Japan - figured our teenage girls would enjoy ending the trip with time in the commercial, leisure area of Odaiba. The hotel was within an 8-10 min walk from the Kokusai-tenjijo train station. Check-in was very quick (perhaps the result of our having prepaid online) with desk staff that understood English. The staff/service was excellent and attentive. For example: At check-in, my wife asked how early airport check-in was needed at Narita for international flights. The clerk quickly answered 2 hours, apparently off the top of her head. About 20 min later, she called us in our room to say that she confirmed the answer to our question and that indeed 2 hours was sufficient - completely unnecessary, but welcome. The rooms were clean and modern, and we welcomed the electric foot massager in each of our rooms. The rooms were typically small (by US standards), which makes it understandable why, like everywhere else we stayed in Japan, we found it impossible to get a single hotel room for the 4 of us (wife, 2 teenagers and me; we had to rent 2 rooms). We did not use the restaurants in the hotel The hotel was about a 15-20 min walk from the main attractions of Odaiba (Venus Fort, the Sky Wheel, Diver City, Aqua City, Fuji TV Building, etc), but once there...plenty of food and shopping. There are hotels closer to these (for example, Hotel Nikko). If Odaiba is your destination, then the hotel is fine and worked well for us.

Awesome view of Tokyo Bay from above the world. The Lobby check in is on the 28th floor and we stay on the 34th floor. We booked Club Exec room with city view and they upgrade us per our request the view of the the Tokyo Bay. My wife and I are very impressed with the service all the staff gave us and I really mean they do go above and beyond. This is Mr. Hilton finest and worth every single penny we paid . Highly recommended. They even took the time to sign us up for Hilton Honor Membership, made reservation for us at he Lobby Bar Lounge for the evening with special seating and last but not least help us catch a taxicab so we don't miss our 1st Narita Express train out of Tokyo Station to Narita Airport for our early morning flight out of Japan.

"Mostly happy with experience."
The whole experience would have been excellent except for cleanliness of the room. The carpet was a bit stained, but I can understand and get that because we got a kid themed room. Kids are really hard on stuff. However, what disappointed me was the mold in the bathroom. There was a ring of black mold under the lip of the sink, and pink mold in areas of the shower. The staff was awesome, especially the luggage staff. We were a ton of school kids there, and the restaurant was closed in the morning trying to accommodate all the kids. It did not affect us, because we are not breakfast people, but I can see where other guests might be upset. The morning we checked out, the coffee bar was also closed, so there was no options for other guests.

"Large hotel with excellent facilities and staff"
The Nikko Hotel is a bit large for my taste but for a relaxing hassle free night before catching a flight it's perfect. The staff is wonderful, so is the spa and its location to Haneda airport. I didn't try the restaurants but I'm sure one of them would be OK - the Teppan-yaki "HAMAYU" restaurant in the neighbouring hotel is otherwise great.
