Excellent!

Posted Nov 21, 2016
Excellent location -- Close to Keisei Ueno Station, which is convenient if traveling to/from Narita Airport. Exceptional staff and service. Breakfasts were also excellent. Spa, and other in-room amenities are also added bonuses. Also has laundry and microwave available for use. Rooms and facilities are small, but as expected. Views (of Shinobazu Pond) were also awesome.

Decent but inconvenient

Posted Nov 8, 2016
Location: Ueno Park has many interesting museums, especially the National Museum.
This hotel is good, but not great. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but their English and knowledge of Tokyo are limited. Western style breakfast is okay. Our room was cut off at one corner. It had no drawers whatsoever, but a good size closet and good bathroom. While it is across the street from Ueno Park with its many museums and temples, you need to take the subway to any other Tokyo attractions. The area around the hotel is not very nice: mediocre restaurants and what looked like cheesy clubs and bars. I would recommend this hotel to get a decent size room for a reasonable price, but sacrifice a good location.

Good location views, and amenities

Posted Aug 17, 2016
Pros: Lots of wonderful small touches. Close to Ueno station. Lovely view of lilypad park.
I moved to this hotel for my last night, and enjoyed my stay, This hotel really makes an effort to make the customer feel welcome. There are men's and women's spas available and breakfast for every guest. My room was clean and comfortable and had lots of wonderful small touches, including an amazing massage pillow. What I wasn't so happy with was the breakfast (go early if you want anything at all), and that the rooms were small, even for Tokyo, and the bathroom only big enough to step into. If you are small in stature and thin, this hotel will work well for you.

Clean and kind staff

Posted Jul 1, 2016
Pros: The facilities are very clean, the staff are very kind and polite, the breakfast is awesome.
Cons: None
The hotel is 5 mins walk from the nearest station. The staff are very kind and rich compliment goods are available. Only the issue is a little small room, but totally acceptable taking into account of the price and the location. I will definitely choose this hotel, for the next opportunity.

Affordable spot that doesn't skimp on the luxuries

Posted Mar 12, 2016
Pros: Fantastic location, extremely reasonable price for the amenities offered
Cons: Room TV was lacking some of the channels that you can find at higher-end hotels
Location: Ueno park is literally across the street, a great walking destination especially during cherry blossom season. Akihabara is a 13 minute walk south.
Booked this room primarily for the location. If you take the famous Keisei Skyliner from Narita airport (36 minutes on a single train) then you'll be dropped off just around the corner from the Coco Grand. From there, it's less than a 10 minute walk to hop on the JR train lines at Ochanomizu and get wherever you need to go in Tokyo. Regardless of the location, though, the hotel actually offers pretty great amenities for the price. Staff were immaculately friendly, helpful, and professional. The spa/communal bath and free breakfast were both surprisingly well equipped. The room itself was a bit on the small side, but pretty typical for the area. This is Tokyo, if you're looking for a hotel room that you can really spread out in then be prepared to pay a substantial premium for it. I've stayed in about a half dozen places in the Tokyo area, and this would easily be top of the list if I had to choose one to stay at again.
