Nice hotel with friendly staff and great locationPosted Oct 6, 2015
Pros: Staff and location
Location: Shinjuku has shopping, lots of food, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, Shinjuku Gyoen and Golden Gai. The Tokyo Metropolitan Govt Building for free view of city
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku. The location is perfect- walkable to food, shops, and most importantly, the Shinjuku subway station, which is well-connected to other parts of Tokyo. Yet the hotel is also in a quiet corner of the road so it is a peaceful place to rest. Room is small as expected but functional and comfortable enough. Staff is very helpful. Each time we had a question about the best way to get somewhere, they patiently gave us all of the options and variables so we could choose the best option for our needs. I did not eat in the restaurant or breakfast buffet so I can't comment on that aspect, but we would stay here again, no question.

Good location, good value, decent room, nice spaPosted Oct 3, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness
Cons: Put some frosting on the bathroom door!
Location: Shopping, nightlife, weird wacky places, transport, awesome little alleyways at the back of shinjuku station that you wouldn't realise were there
I just spent 1 night here after visiting kyoto and before my flight to the uk the next day. It was easy to find once i worked out which exit to come out of at Shinjuku station. Easy, convenient, good location close to the station (2 min walk) and also to the narita airport limousine bus which has a stop down the road or stops at the hotel after 7am too. Took me 5 mins to a load of shops, ten mins walk to the robot restaurant, excellent transport links. Didn't eat here but restaurant looked nice and good menu. I had a stiff neck and shoulders so went for a massage at the spa which was great. The lady didnt speak much english but it didn't matter, she gave a good massage. The staff were,as always in Japan, friendly and polite. I just had a double room which had a decent bathroom with shower over bath. The room was smallish but not super small, still enough space to put my bag down and move around a bit, had a tv but most channels japanese (even bbc world news is translated to japanese) room was still bigger than i expected given that japan is known for small rooms. Everything was super clean and tidy and there was even a tooshbrush, razor, hairbrush etc in the bathroom. The only problem i did have was that the bathroom door is glass and see-through, which i thought was really weird. Not a problem considering i was on my own but if i was with my partner in that room it wouldn't exactly be romantic! The toilet faces straight out the door.

Good value hotel in a great locationPosted Oct 3, 2015
Pros: Great location, good cheap bus service to the airport, very comfy room, handy drink/snack vending machines near to the room, nearby convience store.
Cons: The room was a bit basic, especially the bathroom, but comfortable and clean.
Location: Shinjuku station is close, so easy to travel to anywhere. The famous Shinjuku Golden Gai area is nearby. Family Mart over the road for snacks etc.
I had a very pleasant 3 night stay. The location was ideal, being right near to Shinjuku station it was easy enough to get to from the airport using the metro and JR lines. Also getting other areas in Tokyo and other cities is easy from Shinjuku station. The room was compact and basic, but very comfortable. There was a TV (some English language channels should you want them), kettle, fridge, good air-conditioning, even an ionizer. The in-room wi-fi was very good, and there is also wi-fi in the lobby area. The vending machines on the landing were handy for basic snacks and drinks (soft drinks, but also iced coffee/tea, beer and Japanese whisky), although there is also a Family Mart convience store over the road which sells almost any drink, snack and some hot food. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with check-in/out, sending post cards, and booking the bus to the airport. If you want a good value and pleasant base (think Holiday Inn/Best Western) to venture out and see Tokyo I really can't fault it.

Great hotel close to major train stationPosted Sep 24, 2015
Pros: Everything, it's kind of hard to fault.
Location: 24 Hour Family Mart opposite. 24 Hour Eating places in the surrounding streets. Shinjuku and Yoyogi JR stations are 5 min walk away.
Hotel is beautiful and location is perfect. Staff endlessly want to please you and go out of their way to do so. Even a minor question like how do I get to somewhere, and the staff were researching, giving me directions and even giving printed maps with markings on what lines to change where. Even the housekeeping staff are beyond polite and greet you when you pass and are willing to help you with issues. Honestly just one of the best hotels I've stayed in.

Convenience location near Shinjuku StationPosted Sep 22, 2015
Pros: Location and has direct pick up for the airport bus. It is also near the airport bus pick up around Shinjuku Station. Duty free drug & watch stores.
Cons: Improve the ventilation of the bathroom may help to reduce the smell of urine.
Location: Near Shinjuku Train station.
This is my second time staying at this hotel. I had found the location is very convenience for travelers with near by food eatery and shopping. However, I was disappointed that the maintenance standard has dropped since my last visit a few years back. The toilet was smelly and I had to request to have the room change, which the hotel staff did manage to do so within half an hour. Otherwise, the hotel is clean and comfortable for traveler who wish to stay within the Shinjuku area.

Convenient location, good staffPosted Sep 18, 2015
Pros: Convenient location to eat and shop around the shinjuku area. The subway lines are either next to the hotel or just a couple of meters.
Location: Subway lines to access other places you want to go. There are many restaurants nearby and a supermarket about 500m from the hotel
A very great thing about this hotel is that the limousine bus took us directly to the entrance of the hotel. In addition, they helped us book the bus back to haneda airport. The hallways have no smoke odour which was our main concern.
