God place to stay to experiance the local side

After 10 days in very tourisy places and returned to Tokyo to stay here partly due to price and also location as good for the train line to Kamakura but still quick and easy to get to the centre.
At first we arrived from the station at the wrong side so after going to another hotel for directions in which the staff there called my hotel and arranged for someone to meet us at the right side it was simple. You can actually see the hotel from the station (East side)
Area seems to be full of locals as well as mainy asian tourists or commuters from Haneda airport so it felt more authentic and after central tokyo and Kyoto we noticed a big difference in restarent prices (sometimes as much as half the price) Yes there seems to be some hostess club opposite the hotel but it had a safe feeling about it and had no issues. Plenty of authentic restarants to choose from and some good shops around for those last min gifts or items you didnt want to carry around.
The hotel itself was of a good standard, staff very helpful and freindly thoughout. Our room was relatively big and even facing the main street it was quiet (on the 9th floor) We each received some little welcome tolietry bag on arrival which was a nice touch. Room was cleaned on 3 days to a high standard then on the last day it seemed they started and then decided against finishing it as only bathroom was done :) Carpets never seemed to get a vacumn on them but that was a small issue.
Good internet access and affective air con
