I have nothing but great things to say about Tokyu Stay Takanawa. Not only were the staff friendly and helpful, but the property is in a great location for first-time visitors. The Tokyo Metro and JR lines were just a short walk from the hotel (2mins max). We enjoyed the breakfast every day of our stay (even when we returned for our second stay) and the food options were traditional Japanese items, along with American options. The hotel is safe and only allows for guests to access their assigned floor with their room key. Last and most convenient thing, each room is equipped with a washer/dryer combo which made it nice to take care of laundry before we returned home. I would highly recommend for first time visitors.

Convenient for airport transit, close to station

2min walk to the Keikyu Line station, convenient for both Narita and Haneda airports. Cute cafe in front of the lobby where guests can hang out and eat the delicious bentos from the bento/ coffee shop nearby. Nice room with sitting area, sink, coffee cups. Would absolutely stay again!

Great hotel

Situated slightly outside of the main areas, it's ideal if you need to take the shinkansen the next day as it's exceptionally close to the station. I always prefer to travel from Shinagawa to catch the shinkansen as it's a lot friendlier to navigate than Tokyo station. The hotel is clean, modern and the room are surprisingly spacious.

The hotel itself was very nice but we felt basic amenities, like water, were missing. When I asked, the staff said that I had to buy water from a vending machine in the hotel! There is a large construction site right across from the hotel so the view is not nice. But it's convenient for Haneda and close to 2 train lines. Overall, good but not sure if it's worth the price.

It was the biggest hotel room we had throughout our 2 week stay in Japan. A few dining options around at various prices, Lawsons and 7 Eleven nearby. Close to two different train stations all going to Shinagawa Station. The Shinkansen stops there and then you can either walk 15 mins to the hotel or catch one of the other lines to be closer to it. We didn't have breakfast there. Washer/dryer super hard to work out. Pillows very flat, queen size bed great.

The service is nothing short of excellent and very responsive to fixing any issues with the hotel room. That being said, the room cleanliness is a major issue that I came across during my stay here having found pieces of fish bones and other small bits of dried out food that was not acceptable even though they addressed the issue immediately. The hotel has a very good location since it's within walking distance of the subway, JR Rail, several conbinis, restaurants, and Sengaku-ji temple (where the 47 ronin are buried). While there is a lot of construction going across the street from the hotel, it doesn't really negatively affect it. The room size is good for a solo traveler.
