Older impecable hotel

This hotel still has the 1980s feel, but is impeccably maintained and clean. The staff is attentive and friendly showing pride in their property and we felt welcome on checking in. The beds are comfortable.

My home furnace burned out on Sunday. I needed a place to spend the night while I was waiting for the damaged part to be delivered. The Clarion in Toms River is very close. Along with being very convenient it was also very nice, clean quiet and most importantly warm! All the staff I came in contact with were very nice and professional.

Nice hotel close to family

This is the second year that my husband and I have stayed at the Clarion while visiting family during the Christmas holidays. The staff is very friendly and the room is very spacious... with a nicely sized refrigerator!

Very Nice HOTEL!

Pros: everything
Cons: Don't put people in smoking room without asking.
Location: Sgtores and places to eat everywhere. great location.
Very Clean with nice staff, make sure you let them know in advance that you do not want a smoking room. They gave us one but changed it straight away. Ask for a room close to the elevator is you have any disabilities, otherwise it can be a hike to your room. They also helped me with that issue. lots of stores and places to eat near by. I would stay again for sure.

Great room for the price

Old dingy no way a four-star very disappointed

Somebody who waited this hotel for Star needs to go there and stay there it's old from the 70s

Clean and comfortable

My husband and I stayed at the Clarion for 2 nights while visiting family. The staff are friendly and the room was very comfortable and clean. It is a great location near shopping and the boardwalk. We are planning on staying at the Clarion again next time we are visiting family.

No emergency lighting in stairwell

Pros: The employees at the front desk, Lisa and "Leez'' very pleasant, also the employees that brought our luggage up the stairs and down the stairs for us!
Cons: Get emergency lighting on the stairwell for emergencies, I believe this is a code violation of some sort!
On our last night, the hotel had a power outage "due to the storms " in the area, however the burger king directly in front of the hotel had power. We went into the hotel and to go to our room on the 2nd floor there was no elevator only stairs, which was fine, until we realized the stairwell was not lighted in this emergency, they had emergency lighting in the hallways and the lobby, but none on the stairs? We used the "glow sticks they gave us to get up the stairs (very scary I almost fell on our way up the stairs) when we got to our room, our cell phones were very low on power and we couldn't charge them to at least use the flashlight.(They had no flashlights for guests either) We decided to leave and go elsewhere that night and they did refund our money for that nights stay, after telling us that "other guests chose to stay, but for us having an unlit stairway which was the only way to go down or up , was too dangerous Anyway, for the 2 nights before this mishap, we came back to the hotel and couldn't find a parking spot anywhere near any door, and it was pouring down rain. We got soaked both nights due to"parties" being held in the hotel, and the only parking available for guests, wasn't near any door! I believe they should have had reserved parking for guests of the hotel and the "party people " should have had to park out further, as we had to!! This was our 1st experience at a Clarion, and we will never stay at one again.

Pros: good value clean and comfortable
Cons: WiFi needs improvement tables in the dinning room were very small

the staff were great and very efficient had a problem with the shower head low flow and sink low flow it was handled with in a matter of minutes thanks a million will stay here when I return
