Reminded me of dorm living

Posted Aug 12, 2016
Pros: The location is ideal, close to highway and Wanamaker road.
Cons: The room we had needed a love seat or recliner, as the chairs provided for the desk were very uncomfortable.
Location: Most restaurants close-by are good. Kansas has a very rich history, get out there and explore it!
The hotel was okay for a long-term stay, especially if you were to staying for a week or better. The rooms are basic-no glam. The room we had needed a love seat or recliner, as the chairs provided for the desk were very uncomfortable. The staff were very nice, very helpful. And if you have any issues with the room they dispatched the maintenance guy rather quickly and he was very nice too.

Okay for a long-time stay.

Posted Aug 6, 2016
Pros: the hotel is nice--brightly lit on the inside hallways, I appreciated the laundry room and the prices for the washer/dryer are compatible.
Cons: the room could use an 'easy chair' or 'love seat' because the chairs provided are very uncomfortable.
Location: Since it is near Wanamaker Road, very accessible to restaurants and the West Ridge Mall. And also close to the highway.
The room is adequate. However, the room could use an 'easy chair' or 'love seat' because the chairs provided are very uncomfortable, and I didn't want to sit on the bed the entire time. There could be more towel bars and hooks in the bathroom to hang wet towels and robes, etc. The wifi is fair to poor, so if you are a gamer--you probably won't like the excessive getting kicked from your games all the time. BUT, generally speaking, the hotel is nice--brightly lit on the inside hallways, I appreciated the laundry room and the prices for the washer/dryer are much better than those I have found around the city. The kitchenette was NICE! The Value Place Hotel was very helpful for us, as we waited for our home to be ready.

Thank you for your comments. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. To offer our low rates that guest love, we do have to leave out some of the frills. Like other hotels we do not like to build amenity cost into the rate. Should you need lodging in the future, we hope to see you again.

Better for prolonged stay than overnight

Posted Jul 21, 2016
Pros: Location, personnel
Cons: Better towels, wash clothes and hand towels could be provided. Coffeemaker, coffee and mugs could be provided for overnight stays.
Location: Didn't care -- was traveling.
Super-helpful personnel, pitiful few towels, no coffeemaker or cups, great location, bedside light connected to overhead switch

Simply sweet

It was quaint and quiet, & we liked our stay. The beds could be a bit bigger, but other than that it was great.

Late Check-in: NO SERVICE....Just a bill !!!

Posted May 14, 2016 on Hotels
After a 16 ½ hr drive from Mesa, AZ (1,149 miles) I arrived with my wife at 3:39am absolutely exhausted, in desperate need of a bathroom, a shower and a few hours rest. At the hotel we were greeted with a sign that told us no one was on duty between 5pm & 9am & a lone telephone with 2 extension numbers to ring in for a late check in. I dialed both several times and got the same results…several rings, and a disconnection tone. In desperate need of a bathroom, we left to find a gas station ….30 minutes later we were back, and ringing both extensions which again no one answered. After 10 min of repeated trying, we decided to rest in the car until someone arrived. By 6:30am, we attempted to call the extension numbers again, but still were not able to raise anyone. Finally in frustration, I called the Hotels.com customer service line with the last of my phone battery. The Services Rep from Hotels.com insisted on calling the Hotel on our behalf (which would have been appreciated; expect that my battery died while I was on hold, waiting for her to connect with the Value Place management). Incredibly tired, and absolutely frustrated with the situation (being unable to contact any one with a dead phone & only 3 hrs left to check out), my wife & I left the hotel and slept in the car at a rest area a few miles down the turn pike.

Moderate price for bare bones accommodation.

Posted May 12, 2016
Pros: Moderate price.
Cons: Add lighting fixtures. Be sure to have bathroom floor clean and not sticky. Place was a border line dump.
Location: The Perkins nearby has friendly help, a varied menu, and large portions for reasonable prices.
Won't return. Too spare. Floor sticky. Lighting too dim. Most similarly priced hotels/motels provide a breakfast. Back door didn't work. No one on duty in the late evening. Lucky to have tenant show us how to call for attendant. Window blinds were beat up and broken.
