Excellent location, a great place to stay
Excellent location for everything to see in Toulouse. Comfortable room with new shower room. Continental breakfast excellent with good choice of food available and a good price. Staff very helpful and pleasant.

Vous avez souhaité changer de chambre, pour en avoir une plus grande avec 2 lits. Demande à laquelle nous avons essayé et réussi à répondre, dans la mesure du possible, au vue de l'occupation de l'hôtel. En effet, la salle de bain de la chambre dans laquelle nous avons pu vous loger, n'a pas encore été rénovée. Les travaux sont prévus sous peu. Je ne vous permets pas de juger notre établissement comme une vielle auberge qui a besoin d'une rénovation totale.En outre, vous osez parler du coût de la chambre. Il a fallu négocier avec vous pendant plus d'une heure à votre départ, car vous ne vouliez pas régler la différence de prix entre une chambre quadruple et la chambre que vous aviez réservé initialement. Nous avons du capituler et vous faire une remise. Je vous invite à faire preuve de discernement et de bonne foi, et je suis ravie de ne pas avoir à vous accueillir à l'avenir.La direction

Near attractions
Good size room and bathroom, confortable bed. Room with at a balcony. The hotel is well located near Victor Hugo market and good pastery and restaurants. The only cons was my door room looked like it wasbroken at one time and they did not repaired well or painted the damage. The price was a little over price for the the quality of hotel

The location is excellent. The staff were fabulous. They carried in my luggage, called me when my friend arrived, got us breakfast two hours early so we could catch the train. The best personal service ever! Talk about feeling welcome. Toulouse is a great city and it is all in easy walking distance. Perhaps you could find the room a bit small but it was charming and had plenty of space for clothes and in the bathroom.

Very convenient for a short stay
Busy hotel in a great area in the middle of Toulouse - good breakfast available. Rooms SMALL but that is nothing unusual for French hotels. Outside facing rooms can get quite noisy. Very helpful staff - all with great English (although I did TRY to do everything in French...) Lift and stairs show "character" - not in a bad way. WiFI works ok. Bathroom had a shower in the bath but no shower curtain so not ideal for me, but for one night it was more than adequate.

Terrible Manager and Follow Up.
We did not have air conditioning but were promised it would be fixed the next day This continued for four days. They promised an adjustment on our bill but at check out were told we would have to write to the manager but he NEVER answers his messages. This turned out to be true, we have written twice with no response. Location was great but room was small and hot. With no air, we had to open the small window and then had bugs. We would never stay there again nor recommend it.

Great location
Hotel De France is in a great location in the center of town and close to shopping and many cafes and restaraunts! The room was small but comfortable and the staff was very friendly!! The outside noise from people yelling was the only downside!

Ok for a short weekend
Central location, easy walking distance to most landmarks with many restaurants and bars. Room was small but otherwise good, shower had mould along some of the tiles... The hotel asks you to leave the keys at reception every time you go out, which is fine. However upon entering the hotel you can simply give them a room number with no sort of verification (not even your name) and the key will be given to you no problem. The keys are hung behind the receptionist with visible numbers so it's easy to just pick a number with a key on it! Additionally there's no safe in the room, making the security situation even worse.

Simple and beautiful
I love this place! It's cheap, simple and beautifully modernised, right in the middle of my favourite restaurants and close to so many beautiful cultural attractions. So much cuter than a sterile large chain, so I always stay here when they have rooms available.

OK - But not luxurious!
We stayed 2 nights - the first we did not sleep as the air conditioning would not work (it was switched off for winter!) so we tried leaving the window open, but much too noisy. Ended up stifling! They turned it on for us the second night which was good. The bed was very hard and the pillows like bricks! But I guess if you pay for 3 stars that's what you get. Parking - public, close - if you want the hotel discount make sure you go to the booth on the first floor with a person in it otherwise its automatic and you don't get it.

Comfy beds. Put in different room to that ordered as hotel thought one ordered would be noisy on saturday night - it would have been. We were happier higher up where there was more natural daylight. Toulouse buildings are usually five storey. Woken by noise from building work next door on 2nd and 3rd morning of stay. not hotel's fault but i would not have wished this. Building work is finite i presume - renovatinghotel next door. Exdellent location, and tranquil apart from current next door building works. I would go there again. Staff were very helpful.

Great location for exploring the city
Lovely little hotel situated in a good location for all the main attractions but suitably tucked away so as not to be too noisy. We had a room on the 5th floor with its own balcony. Whilst a bit small the room was well set out and comfortable, warm when it needed to be, cold when it didn't (aircon worked very well and was quiet). The staff were excellent - informative, very helpful and polite and perservered with our awful French. English speaking skills were very good.

I booked last minute, not knowing where the street was located. What great surprise to be just a few steps from one of my most favourite restaurants in Toulouse. Truly a hidden gem. On my list of faves now.

Excellent location but I did not like the room on a lower floor where curtains had to stay pulled to prevent rooms across the narrow street to look in. Room was large but not cozy as I had expected from the description.

I stayed here for a quick overnight while on route further north. I arrived late enough (after 6pm) and checked out early (before 10am) and during the time I spent I was impressed. Room was big enough for two people with two large bags and was clean and comfortable. It came with large windows that fully opened and you could sit in the window listening to the hustle and bustle of the streets below. Once windows were closed, not a sound could be heard. The folks on reception couldn’t have been nicer on check in and out. When asked, they recommended restaurants and bars to visit for dinner/breakfast. Hotel is in the centre of everything and very handy for those that like to wander! No direct parking at this hotel but its right across from a multi-story car park and provided you take the car back before 10am in the morning, the overnight rate is reasonable. Would consider this hotel again if stopping in Toulouse again.

This hotel is very very basic. I would hate to have to stay in for more than a night or two.Room very small, shower unit not functioning properally.Its location is the only plus in its favour.Its walk in off the street price is high for the quality one gets.But thats France!

Good location, quite good hotel
This hotel is located in what they call the "super-center" of the city of Toulouse. A walk to the Capitole takes a few minutes. I think the 2 stars given to the hotel are fully deserved. My room wasn't so big, but it was confortable. They have Internet access, and it's also free, and that's something you really need when traveling for work. The only black point is the breakfast: I finally understood here why French people call it "petit dejouner", where petit means, unfortunately, small. For the same price, you can walk to square Wilson and have breakfast under the sun while enjoying the view.

Hôtel bien situé près du parking Victor Hugo, des halles et du centre ville. Très bon accueil, personnel très sympathique. Dommage que la chambre pour 2 soit un peu petite très peu de place pour circuler et très mal insonorisée. Pour une ou deux nuits c'est suffisant.
