Very nice hotel near Tiber

I was enchanted with this hotel from the moment I arrived. Check in was friendly and efficient. The hotel is a former convent so a bit labyrinthine in layout, but fully renovated and modern. Nice gym, nice sized room, and absolutely top notch staff. Great experience. I will stay there the next time I am in Rome.

Great Hotel right in the middle of Rome

The room was very well arranged and clean with everything you may need - including a good coffee machine! Very well positioned for restaurants and visiting all that Rome has to offer including ancient ruins, markets and cobbled streets with great little shops. Staff were lovely and even offered us drinks after we had checked out!

lovely hotel with excellent staff

Pros: Everything was good especially the staff!
Cons: Nothing could be improved.
Location: 5 minute walk from the Vatican, really good location
On arrival excellent staff, very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Fantastic room, good location, 5 minute walk from the Vatican. Would have not hesitation in visiting this hotel again!

Pros: The Room and the VIEW
Cons: THE FOOD QUALITY
Location: The sights of Rome , but get the Hop on and off Bus to get you around
We stayed at Gran Melia for 3 nights , the room was lovely with amazing views and comfortable bed . but when we arrived it was getting late so we decided to eat in the Hotel Restaurant which was very poor cuisine and a very limited menu and VERY EXPENSIVE for what we had . not what were use to for a 5 star Hotel

Don't pay extra for red level

Nice hotel on the outskirts of the city on top of a steep hill. We booked a suit for our anniversary after saving for a long time for the additional benifits of the exclusive red service. However we found we were dining and drinking in exactly the same place as the rest of the hotel guest's. I had to ask them to clarify what additional benefits there was for the 700 Euros a night room. It was only then 3 days into a 4 day trip we had our breakfast in an adjoining resteraunt. Certainly wouldn't have thought we would have to keep reminding them we were red level guest's. Check out was also done at the normal desk stood with our luggage definitely not worth the extra cost

I can assure you that we accommodate a number of guests in our hotel and are proud to have the flexibility to meet their requirements, therefore it is extremely disappointing to have let you down in this occasion, since attention to detail and personalization are our main focus, based on the Company’s philosophy and service vocation. Our staff daily works with only aim of turning each stay into pleasant experiences, in a suggestive location conceived for those guests looking for relax. That is why we are so afraid to learn, only via review, that although our efforts, we let you down. We always prefer, in fact, to have the chance of personally handling our guests’ concerns in order to meet their requirements. It is a shame not to have had this opportunity. In reference to the Red Level experience, I am extremely sorry to realize your displeasure, since it represents a personalized and intimate concept, meant to give our guests a further exclusive service. The Red Level booking, linked only to the upper rooms’ categories, benefits from other services besides the private area, such as: full à la carte breakfast, daily free access to the spa, in-room experiences (like aromatherapy, bubble bath), private concierge, private butler upon request, free daily ironing service, etc. meant to further personalize each stay. i do sincerely hope we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back. best Regards SH Assistant Guest Experience

Pros: Yes we like it and we bring their business card to prepare introduce to our friends or we will back next time.
Location: Near Vanticano
People nice and helpful especially indicate to us how to visit nearby visit point.

Wonderful hotel!

We really enjoyed our stay there! Everything was perfect! One thing which we didn't quite like was that the spa closes at 8pm, so you cannot go to the pool, sauna, etc. in the evening. And breakfast is overly expensive (36 Euro per person). Otherwise, it's a great hotel and would be happy to be back there again.
