The place looks great, the staff is superb, but I can't believe they let people sleep on such a mattress, that's just a bunch of springs poking at you all night. AC smelled pretty bad as well

The resort was inland but a regular shuttle takes you to a nice beach. A restaurant provides beer and food there at very reasonable prices. Free abundant beach chairs and shade is available. Several restaurants are a short walk away down a road heading towards the beach from the front of the hotel. Massage is available at a reasonable price at the hotel as well. Please note that island transportation is very expensive so you will likely stay at the resort. We arranged through them a full day snorkeling tour of 4 locations and that was a highlight. The have a nice buffet breakfast but it tends to get a bit boring after a few days. They have tiny pre-made omelets, sunny side eggs, ham and chicken hotdogs mainly for western items and varied Thai dishes as well as salad, bread, etc. The main changes are to the Thai breakfast dishes so my suggestion is to make changes to the western food items a well. A more varied fruit section would be nice too.

The hotel is set amongst beautiful tropical gardens, water features traditional thai sculptures with a back drop of the mountains. The accomodation was very clean and spacious with a fridge, safe, nice balcony with table and chairs overlooking the gardens. Its a little dated, but it didnt effect our stay. The staff are all very friendly and accomodatig. We found the mattress to be too hard and they quickly added a soft mattress topper which we didnt expect, so thank you! The pool is lovely, the warmest I have had any where. A bit dissappionted with the pool bar, looks univiting but did offer the restaurant menu. We travelled with a toddler and they provided a large size cot in the room. Its bot the most buggy friendly property with steps to the rooms and difficult pathways to pool area, but we managed. The restaurant food service was a bit slow, but the food was delicious. Breakfast was good, a mixture of cereal, pastries, fruits, yogurt, eggs and thai options. It would be nice if they had a coffee shop on site.

Staff at Hotel and restaurant all very friendly and helpful, they are great to my Children who class them all as friends. I have been going their for several years now and go several times each year and go even more now I have retired and will continue to do so. Room service very good and you can have food delivered to your room.

Delightful Resort in a Beautiful Setting
Beautifully set out resort in a garden setting. Is not on the beach but has an hourly transport to the best beach on the island. The restaurant food is of a high quality and very reasonably priced, all prices include taxes therefore there are no additional surprises when you get the bill. The Buffett breakfast has all the usual fare for westerners along with some Asian choices and is generally a good standard. The swimming pool is delightful and situated such that it gets shade which keeps the water cool and refreshing. There is a convenience store within about a 10 minute walk and a few small restaurants can be found close by. All in all I have no trouble in recommending this resort, we stayed 8 nights in a standard room that had everything we needed and I would definitely stay here again.

The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the staff who served at the spa was rude and unfriendly. She was very impatient when responding to my enquires on the different type of spa treatment. When I said thank you before I left, she did not bother to say good bye or etc....

Great holiday at Ramayana!
The stay was excellent from the start to the end. We spend 10 days and the staff was really going out of their way to make our visit excellent. My wife is a vegetarian with really difficult food choices but they really went out of their way to prepare everything the way she wanted to. She still tell all our friends of the good people especially a girl by the name of Lorryne who went out of her way daily. We had a great stay and plan to bring the who family next year. Loved it.

Friendly staff
Have been to Ramayana several times this year and many many times in the last 5 years. Will continue to use this hotel when I am in Koh Chang because all the staff are very friendly and helpful, they are also very good with my children I plan to go again later in July and then again in October

Relaxing visit
I really liked the setting of the hotel. The grounds from outside our balcony looked like the rain forest. It was very beautiful and relaxing. The pool area was nice...enjoyed the jacuzzi. The restaurant had delicious food but just a note to non-smokers...even though there are signs prohibiting smoking everyone was still doing it with no one telling them otherwise. That was a downer. Other than that, and some ants we had to battle in our room, we liked everything about this hotel. The complimentary umbrellas were a nice touch.

We really loved the Raymayana. Not right on the beach but the shuttle went there every hour. We rented a moped from the hotel which was super easy and toured around. Close to the one waterfall on that side of the island. Reasonably priced restaraunt with good food. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that took points off was the bed. Hardest mattress we have slept on in Thailand. The loungers by the pool were more comfortable.

Very relaxing resort & spa, with a nice swimming pool, very friendly staff and nice green surroundings. Bungalow style family rooms were ok, beds standard Thai style stiff. Need transportation to explore the beaches, they rent scooters but we had a car. With that the location was very good.

Great location near Lonely and Whitesands beach. We really enjoyed that this hotel was private and not in a busy area. Hotel restaurant offered a wide variety of both Thai and Western cuisine with room service available. We really enjoyed renting the motorbikes which abled us to check out the entire island on our own schedule very affordably. Gym was very nice, air conditioned and offered a wide variety of machines and free weights. Pool and grounds are kept immaculate. We would definitely recommend for families or couples.

I'm going again!!
Three of us friends travelled during low season (August) and booked a twin bed room with extra bed (extra bed for 500thb including breakfast). We were initially planning to stay at different beaches for each of our days but within the first 10 minutes of experiencing the Ramayana, we unanimously decided we are staying here for the entire trip. It was a really good decision. Ramayana has excellent food in their restaurant as well as order-in. They have a fantastic pool side with heated jacuzzi and a free shuttle every hour takes you to their private beach 1km away. The hotel has lakes on two sides of the property which means your front door opens out to a lake view and the balcony opens out to the pool view. Or vice versa. They also have a convenice store within the property and you can rent motorbikes and tours/activities right from the front desk - totally hassle free. We got two motorbikes to ride around and also booked a snorkelling trip recommended by them at pretty much the same cost as any tour/activity company. The quality of this resort is amazing. Attention to detail and staff friendliness is off the charts. This is one of the best places I've stayed in for a long time. Just book it already!

Very pleasant getaway
The hotel was great, set in wonderfully kept grounds. ALL the staff were so friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced (booked online) so very surprised at the quality of the accommodation. Only (minor) drawback was the lack of WiFi in rooms, available in public areas such as reception and restaurants, coffee shop, etc. Every day brought a new towel/flower sculpture on the bed, courtesy of the lovely housekeepers, and brought a daily smile :-)

Room has balcony and faces the pool, not fantastic- welcome fruit platter was left outdoor. We checked in late and the stale fruit was removed quietly with no replacement. Wifi is only avail at minimart. Shuttle service (v limited slots and timing) only to 'sister hotel beach'- far from all the events and fun. Would recommend hotels around White sands beach for the real Koh Chang experience. Staff at Ramayana are not informative and not very helpful. Motorbike rental is more expensive than outside but provides convenience of returning at hotel. All transfers cost is much higher- better to get your own transport. Overall poor impression of this hotel.

Rip off breakfast!
Oerpriced, not near beach and staff trained to sqeeze every penny out of you. My rate did not include breakfast and if you asked for a glass of water to take medication ... you'll be charged! B.350 for a poor choice of buffet breakfast is a rip off.There are much better places to stay on koh chang.
