Charming Cottage In Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes Near Lake MI Beach

Family-friendly cottage in Empire
Charming historic home nestled on 2 shaded lots in the village of empire. It's just a short walk or bike ride (we've stored a few bikes in the garage for you!) to Empire's quaint main street and to one of the world's most beautiful beaches.

Our cottage has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. Additional sleeping spaces for up to 2 people are provided by a sleeper sofa in the living room. Both the dining room (seats up to 10) and the living room (seats up to 11) are light-filled, spacious and sport newly refinished pine floors. Fully furnished, with WiFi (in summer season), a flat screen television, dishes, cookware, bed linens and bath towels (please provide your own beach towels).

Enjoy climbing the dunes, paddling the shoreline, biking the Heritage Trail or simply walking to Empire's tavern, art galleries, ice cream shop and library. Venture out or get cozy at the cottage where you can use the outdoor charcoal grill, piece together a puzzle at the game table in the living room or stroll to the beach to watch a sunset overlooking Lake Michigan.

Delightful Quaint home in the Village
A Charming 19th century home with a few modern conveniences, but retaining the feel of the past. This house is perfectly located for easy access to Empire Beach and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Perfect for family and kids as it has lots of games and a big yard for playing ball and croquet. An easy walk or bike ride to to the beach. Kitchen was well supplied with pots and pans. Host was easy to reach when we had a question. We would stay here again. Bathroom might be a challenge for someone with a disability or on the larger size.

Cozy lake house
We had a wonderful week at this cozy house, exploring Empire and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Our kids loved the big yard, complete with a hill to roll down. We loved sitting in back reading in the early evening, and looking at the stars at night. Very quiet and peaceful. We even saw a couple pileated woodpeckers! The house was old and charming, and has everything you need to make meals, relax, watch a movie, and sleep. The kids adored every oddly placed door and have some theories about what’s in the attic. (Nothing but good-natured fun). We loved the front living room with comfy seating and wonderful light. Kim was wonderful and helpful, and even bought an extra fan (it’s a great one! High powered!) when I mentioned we get hot— we were perfect all week. Thanks for sharing your place with us. Was the perfect pandemic getaway.

Our family had a great time. The house was cozy and clean. There was plenty of space for family dinners in the dining room and game nights in the living room. Everything from trails to beaches to the chocolate shop was super walkable. Thank you for a great experience.

Such a breathe of fresh air! Spacious cottage for my family of 6. Very clean with character. Charming home built in 1880, but partially redone to accommodate today. Adorable small artsy town that all ages will love and centered in sleeping bear dines, Glen Arbor and Glen Haven! So much to do!! Highly recommend!! We will be back💛

Great location in comfortable house
The property owners were easy to communicate with and very responsive to messages. The 19th century house has been updated but retains some charming features. It had obviously been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival, and was welcoming and comfortable throughout. Do leave windows open and fans on during summer months. Easy walk of just a few blocks through quiet, peaceful neighborhood to quaint little town with local stores. We walked to beach, but there is plenty of parking there, too. Note: an outdoor light would have been helpful for arriving after dark.
