The Ideal Time of Year to Visit

Traverse City resorts are busiest during the winter holiday season. If your schedule offers you some flexibility, visit Expedia.com to book your visit for later in the winter, such as February or March. There will still be plenty of snow on the slopes. Because the region receives an average of 80 inches of snow each year, the slopes remain snowy through early spring. If you'd prefer to visit during the off-season, June, August, and September boast fewer crowds and warmer weather. During the summer months, the local vineyards offer tours, and the slopes are open for hiking.
