Decent, but you get what you pay for.Posted Jan 25, 2016
I've stayed at this hotel multiple times. Never stellar, but always acceptable, and always cheap. This time was worse than others, however. We were three people and a dog coming up to Traverse City for two nights for a snowshoe race. It's nice that the hotel allows dogs, but most people who bring their dogs seen make no effort to respect the property and other guests, letting their dogs run loose next to a heavily-trafficked road and never picking up their pet's waste. We booked through Expedia and, upon arriving, were informed that they had been overbooked and there was no two-bed room for us that night. It was strange that they said this was extremely rare, since the exact same thing had happened the last time we stayed there two months prior. The management handled it nicely however and gave us a cot for the night, an upgraded two-bed room for the following night, and waived the standard pet fee for our dog. The cot is definitely not worth the $10 they normally charge for it, as anyone would be more comfortable sleeping on the floor than that terrible saggy thing. Then, when we tried to go to breakfast the second morning at 9:30am, a staff member was hurriedly putting everything away. She informed us that breakfast closed at 9:30 in the winter, but the info card in our room said that breakfast was available until 10am. In summary, you get what you pay for. It's easy to get affordable rooms here, but I'll be checking other places next time we come up to Traverse City.

Bad, bad, badPosted Nov 30, 2015
Cons: Better, more informed staff
We never got to stay. The rude desk clerk refused to give us a main floor room even though my husband is handicapped. She said there were no more first floor rooms at the Expedia rate. She then canceled our reservation and threatened to call the police. We were forced to find alternate lodging even though we had already paid for our rooms. At no time did we raise our voices or make any threats. This was clearly a violation of the Americans With Disibilities Act.

Modest -close to airport for those early flightsPosted Nov 13, 2015 on Hotels
Just overnight to get very early flight out of airport. Downside to neighborhood, which was safe, was that it is close to hospital but not much ambulance noise my night. Traffic sounds though. And I travel w/Clorox wipes to wipe on surfaces and that lets me see cleaning job- not great.

This place is was so run down. The front desk staff were rude. When I asked when the coffee in the check in area was brewed, she responded "I don't know, I haven't even had dinner yet". The bathroom was dirty. If I had dared to shower I would not have had shampoo since there was none there. Overall this was unpleasant and I can't believe I had to pay $150 for one night (before tax)!!!
