Ecolirios Boutique Hotel & Villas
"I can't say enough good things about Ecolirios. We stayed in a mountain view villa and it felt like a modern treehouse in the rainforest. I could live there! The staff were excellent--friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The property is stunning. We truly enjoyed the twilight tour with Dennis. Who knew the rainforest is so alive after dark?! We also got incredible couple massages from Jeni anda Yanira. They are very skilled and getting a massage in an open air spa in the middle of the rainforest with the river running underneath was an unforgettable experience. We also enjoyed the sauna and the natural pool. It was great to jump into the natural pool following the sauna especially with a light rain. Unbelievable! We saw so many different species of bird, including Tucans, as well as other wild life. Just walking through the paths on the property was such a pleasant experience. We highly recommend Ecolirios and expect to be back!"

"Good"
Pacuare Mountain Lodge
"I am so thrilled we booked two days here. I was not certain about it but it is such a beautiful location. The “newish” owners are so kind and welcoming. Armando, the everything guy, was our favorite CR person! He was so kind and helped with my rudimentary Spanish. My kids loved it here as well. It is not luxury, so if that is what you are looking for, this is not your place. If a great value and beautiful location and good food is what you are looking for, I highly recommend. Cabin was clean and the fan kept it cool enough. Food was delicious. Pool is small but kids jumped in to cool off after a day of rafting on the Pacuare River. Exploring the massive property was a fun way to explore CR. We even saw a beautiful rainbow over the valley. Road to get there is a lot bumpy, curvy and hilly but worth the drive. I would not hesitate to stay here again! We loved our time here."
Guayabo Lodge
"Amazing place and incredible view to the mountains, an as a birdwatcher amazing place for birdwatching. In 2 days around 70 different species…"
Chic Mountain Farmhouse w/ 180º Extravagant Views
"Amazing view from everywhere in the house. Very clean. The host & owner were very friendly and responsive. One problem was finding the driveway as it wasn’t showing up for me on Waze or Google Maps. The area had a water problem while we were there but otherwise, it is a fantastic property and wonderful experience."
