“My wife and I travel as a hobby... and we travel in luxury. The Rosewood Mayakoba is the most luxurious experience we have had. The spa is perhaps the best on earth, the interior mangroves and boat rides to restaurants is such a cool experience. The rooms are literally on top of the water, private pools, AMAZING service... truly an experience that I hated to end!”

“*Hotel does not inform you pre-arrival or upon arrival that seaweed makes it impossible to use beach/ocean. The odor permeates everywhere, even when you are in guest room with doors shut. Understand its an act of nature, but it would be appropriate and appreciated to acknowledge to guests and perhaps offer a diffuser or room spray to mediate the terrible smell. *After checking in, you are asked to wait in lobby (assuming it was for bellman and luggage)....nope! a 30+ minute pitch to visit other……

“Lots of construction going on, which we understand is necessary, but the dining was a mess that week. Of the 4 main restaurants, most were closed they other night, some nights 3 of 4 were closed. Dunno if it was staffing issues or what, but definitely changed the experience. Thank goodness for 24 hr room service, which was ok overall but very slow, always an hour plus wait for dinner. ”

“We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels.”

“The El Dorado Maroma was an overall great resort. My family of had a great trip. The resort grounds were pretty and well taken care of. The beach was amazing! The food was great, for sure get the pizza and tacos during lunch! All the activities included with “More Inclusive” were so fun and saved a lot of money. The entertainment team was fun, they had activities all day to participate in. The resort never felt too crowded, which we loved! Would 100% go back!”
