Here are the reasons I booked this room. The price was low and I needed a driving break on a very long trip. I knew I would be tired and need some good distractions for the kids. The amenities listed included cable tv, a pool, Wifi, and COVID safe continental breakfast. Right away we noticed the TV didn't work and staff did not know how to fix it. I asked if we could have a different room, but they said the motel was fully booked. Next I asked for directions to the pool, and we found out the pool was not available. I asked if I could get my money back and go somewhere else, and the staff member said her manager was gone and she didn't know how to give refunds. Feeling stuck, we tried to make the most of it. The front desk person tried to fix the tv and when she couldn't she said she would send another person down to help, but he never came.
The whole place smelled strongly of...cleaning supplies, maybe? Chemically. The minifridge did not work very well. I put the ice pack from my cooler in the freezer section and it was still liquid the next morning even though I had turned the setting to the coldest option. The floors seemed newer, but everything else seemed very run down.
I chose this place to ease the stress and fatigue of a very long car drive with my two children. Motel 6 made it more stressful. I had to deal with two tired and disappointed young children after 6 hours of being on the road and feeling exhausted myself. I want my money back.
