Wonderful hotel! Our train was late, and the staff waited for us to check in. The room was clean and comfortable. Very close to walk to places. Great family pizza place around the corner! Wish we had more time to explore-Trieste is beautiful! Would highly recommend staying here

This is a very unique boutique hotel. Be prepared to walk a bit. Also it is somewhat hidden in an alley. If you can handle walking get the fifth floor . Elevator only goes to 4 so you have a climb up the winding staircase but the church bells at that level are awesome. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would book again.

The location was perfect for exploring Trieste. The hotel is very close to the Piazza Unita d'Italia. There were many shops and restaurants nearby. When we checked in, we were given a map and detailed information on places of interest and how to get to them. The breakfast was tasty and had a great variety of foods-even GF!

Great small hotel.
Loved hotel situated in pedestrian area of central Trieste. Lovely breakfast with a good selection of food. Friendly and helpful staff. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Great little Trieste hotel
We enjoyed our stay at the James Joyce, in the heart of the old city and the many many restaurants , cafes and bars. The breakfast was good, the service friendly, and the location perfect. I’d stay again.

A simple hotel, but very clean and central location. Breakfast was very good. Nadine from the reception was exceptionally helpful answering questions and available when needed. She always has such a positive attitude. My only complaint is the air conditioner although she lowered as much as possible it was not too cool.

The staff of Hotel James Joyce were very, very accommodating. I sent them a message originally stating my flight was coming in past check in time and they said they would wait. However when my flight from London was delayed an extra hour because of weather, I called them as soon as I landed. It's a small hotel with a small staff and they left me a note at the front desk to call their personal cell when I got there. They even spoke English for this American. The hotel is in a little alley and if it was anywhere else it would seem suspect but I felt safer there even walking back at 1am, than I do in my hometown.

Pleasant small hotel in a great location. Fantastic, helpful staff. Bathroom/shower quite small, and the distance to the car park is a drag (literally with cases). But overall the positives outweigh the negatives

This hotel was perfect, great central location, very modern and clean. Lovely breakfast and coffee daily. The owners were exceptional. Incredibly kind and helpful with information about the area and transportation to the airport. Would definitely stay again and cannot recommend enough.

Trieste is great!
We had equested a room on a low floor and were disappointed to have been allocated a room on the 5th floor! They then offered us a room on 4th floor! Eventually we got a room on the 1st floor. But everything else was good. Nice comfy bed!

Cozy room in excellent location.
We had a very nice but short stay the night before our cruise. The location is excellent, just steps from the main piazza and cruise port. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early which allowed us to take a nap after our journey. There is an elevator. The room was efficient and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The only negative is that sound carried throughout the building and we were able to hear many conversations from our 3rd floor room well into the night. We would definitely stay there again if ever in Trieste.

Great central location, especially for those taking a cruise out of Trieste. It’s about a 5 minute walk to the pier. Very good breakfast. Only drawback was the room was very small - hard to maneuver around especially with luggage.

The James Joyce Hotel is a small hotel on a very narrow street in a pedestrian zone near the main plaza of Trieste, an ideal location. The hotel is intimate, quiet, and super-clean. We only stayed one night, but when we return to Trieste this will be our first choice.

Wow! Beautiful little boutique hotel in one of the most charming towns in Italy that we have been to, Trieste! The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating! The wonderful gentlemen that was always at the front seat found out it was my granddaughters 18th bday and when we came back from a wonderful beach excursion, there were beautiful red roses waiting for her in our room! Looking forward to going back to stay there again with some friends. Perfect!! Deb Estep

We found it difficult to find but the staff were very helpful in locating the offsite parking and went out of their way to make it easier. Friendly, accommodating staff in an interesting part of Trieste. Good breakfast, lovely server.

eine zentrale lage im zentrum
das hotel liegt sehr günstig im zentrum von triest in einer kleinen, nicht befahrbaren gasse. aber bis zum parhaus sind es nur ca. 5 fussminuten. es ist kein luxushotel, aber es bietet alles, was man für einen angenehmen aufenthalt benötigt. frühstück war einseitig, aber ok.

Struttura di recente ristrutturazione, perfetta in tutto: arredi, comfort, pulizia ed estrema gentilezza e disponibilità del proprietario. Ho trascorso solo una notte ma se dovessi tornare a Trieste, sicuramente soggiornerei di nuovo presso l'Hotel James Joyce. Davvero consigliatissimo!
