Rude desk clerk.

Posted May 28, 2017
Pros: Original rate on Expedia was good.
Location: Remote location from Portland. 20 minutes out. Stayed at edge of Portland and found more stores and restaurants.
I booked 7 days through Expedia. When I arrived the desk clerk asked me to initial to ensure payment of the rate for 7 days, but two of the days were not listed--the last two. I said I would sign the document if all days were listed. The clerk told me that was not possible as their system did not print days that had duplicate rates. Then why are you asking me to assure payment for days not listed? She said the rate was the same as the first two days--three or four times. Like I could not understand her. I understand perfectly what it means to sign a contract. Here is our rate--you agree to pay it. Very simple. If you do not list the rate for some days, that is not included in the contract. Simple--what is contained within the four corners of the document is what I am liable for--what is not stated is open to interpretation. And REPEATEDLY saying your system does not print ALL of the days implies either you think I am ignorant, with diminished capacity, or worse yet, "too old to understand you." The latter appeared to be the case. After going to my car to make a phone call, I went back in and said I would sign the document for the days listed in it and we would go elsewhere for the two days not listed in the contract. The clerk quoted a considerably higher rate. She explained that said she could not honor the original Expedia reservation since I was requesting fewer days and she would have to charge me the "hotel rate."

I am so very sorry for the issues at check-in - I know that our GM called and I messaged you that night when we heard from you and the hotel, and I am sorry that we were not able to resolve this to your satisfaction - thank you for speaking with Stephanie. We should have immediately written and initialed the additional rates that the system didn't print for you and avoided the entire problem. After that, while it's true that we can't override the length of stay for an Expedia promotional rate reservation, we also should have called Expedia to accomodate the change you requested. We have spoken with the front desk person and, again, our offer for a complimentary night is still open at any time that you're our way. This is not usual, and both Stephanie and I regret that it happened. All the best, Loree

Great Place

Posted May 8, 2017
Pros: Rooms were very nice, good breakfast and great location.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: DQ next door. Outlet mall is very close as well as several restaurants and fast food places. Easy to get back on to Interstate 84.
First time staying @ the Comfort Inn - Columbia Gorge Gateway. Had a great experience, will be stay there again if the need arises. Easy access to and from interstate. Check was quick and the room was clean, in great shape and spacious. Breakfast was also very good. Biscuits, gravy, bacon, eggs, waffle maker, cereal and fruit. No problem with noise overnight.

Family trip to mountains and waterfalls

Posted May 3, 2017
Pros: Staff is great.
Cons: Need signs near the elevator to show the direction of the stairways.
Location: Located mid way between Multnomah Falls and downtown Portland. We enjoyed Godfather's Pizza, visited the local Fred Meyer and Outlets. 2 hrs to beach
This was a big family trip where we rented 5 rooms total. The staff did a great job of keeping us near each other. The hotel was only a 15 - 20 minute drive to Multnomah Falls and downtown Portland. It seemed like a nice area of town right off the highway. Easy to find and very close to anything you might need. The manager does a great job of keeping everything in order, she was very kind and helpful. I can't tell you how wonderful she was as well as every staff member we encountered. I would stay here again. Very quite and clean with lots of free parking.

Happy that you got out to Multnomah Falls (beautiful with all the winter water in it, isn't it?) and some great shopping in over at the Columbia Gorge Outlets. We will see you again the next time you're this way! All the best, Loree

Hi, Karen! Glad that your pup got to travel with and that you were both comfortable in the room. You're probably speaking of Thousand Acres / Sandy River Delta (next exit, east side of the river), which is a beautiful walk through fields and wooded areas by the river. We appreciate the Forest Service taking such good care of that environment for us. There is also a great walk through the fields by the dike and river just off the back of our property for that first morning stretch :). Glad you slept well and we look forward to seeing you again!
