Motel staff and comfort

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Air conditioning was not working. When staff notified we were told it is hot outside so we should just expect it to be hotter in our room. We also had to ask for fresh towels as they did not deliver any through our stay.

Out of date and in very bad shape

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Staff was nice
Cons: Total remodel
Location: Troy is a small town with few things to do. We were in town to watch a baseball tourament.
The room was clean but had a very bad oder. They had to replace my air condition the second day and it still did not work well. I had to have my keys reprogramed twice. No wash rags in the room when I arrived. The exhaust fan did not work in the bathroom. Light bulbs out in the room. Some electrical outlets did not work. One reason I booked here was for the pool. I have a young son and the pool was green due to pump being out. After two days I check out and found a lot better place.

Not so good

Posted Jul 20, 2015
We arrived after 10:00 at night and check in was a breeze. When we got to our room we noticed the air wasn't blowing cold. We also noticed the cover on the unit wasn't on properly. My husband went to the front desk and told them. It was late so they said someone would look at in the morning. We didn't sleep any that night because it was so hot. The next morning on our way to the lobby to see when our air would be fixed or when we would be moved we noticed the pool looked like swamp water!! A new unit was put in and although it was cooler it still wasn't cold. The next morning we woke up to find out TV wasn't working! This place needs an overhaul.

Quality Inn Sucks!!!!!!!

Posted May 11, 2015 on Hotels
They canceled my reservation, so I had to pay for the room again. So I paid for three nights and only stayed one night. The manager was not a pleasant person when I asked why my reservation was canceled. I asked if I could check in early and was told that check In was at 3:00pm, so at 3:00pm I sent my wife to check in and she was told the room was not ready. And I thought check in was at 3:00pm. Also the air conditioner did not work properly. I slept in a puddle of sweat. If this Quality Inn was the only hotel in Troy Alabama that had a vacancy I would sleep under a bridge!!!!!!!

I am saddened to hear the hotel fell short in offering the quality stay you expect from a Choice Hotel. Unfortunately your reservation was for the previous night and when you had not showed up at 7am, per our guarantee policy, we cancelled the room and considered it a no-show. However, we did assist you in getting your refund for the 3rd party site you booked through so that you would not loose out on your original payment. Please know, your feedback has been made available to the hotel for reference on where updates and improvements can be made. Thank you for taking the time to share some feedback on your stay with us.

Pros: The beds were clean and comfortable.
Cons: This hotel needs a complete upgrade.
First thing we saw when we arrived was that the door. It looked like it had been kicked in a couple of times, not a good sign. The room in itself was clean, but small and really outdated. There was peeling wallpaper in the bathroom area and the ceiling was a mix of popcorn and smooth ( had been repaired but instead of making it all the same you could see the different textures). There was also visible mold stains. The worse part was when we turned on the AC. It sounded like an old washing machine on the spin cycle. So, we tried to call the front desk, but the phone didn't have a dial tone! We went to the front desk to request a new room but there were none available since it was graduation weekend. The lady at the front said she would send the maintenance guy to take a look. When he came in he looked and said " yep, it's loose". He then said he couldn't fix since he wasn't the repair guy! Really????? Needless to say , it made for a very long and uncomfortable night with the constant noise from the AC. After 1/2 hour of it, we just gave up an turned it off. We were supposed to stay another night, but we checked out first thing in the morning.

Terrible experience.

Posted May 10, 2015
I booked 3 rooms so my family could attend Troy University graduation. All 3 rooms were dirty. Beds were uncomfortable. Air conditioning did not work in one of the rooms. Pool was closed. Cable was unreliable, and no wifi. I even had to go down to the lobby to get towels for one of the rooms. Left us all tired and miserable on a very important day.

Please know, your feedback has been made available to the hotel for reference on where updates and improvements can be made. The pool is scheduled to open Memorial Day Weekend as it does every year and we have had all HVAC units on the property tested, cleaned, and serviced where needed. We are confident that they are all functioning properly and cool the rooms. Thank you for taking the time to share some feedback on your stay with us.

Cheap Stay for a night

Posted May 3, 2015
Don't expect much. We booked a non-smoking room and was given a smoking room. The stench was so bad we had to go buy airfreshner. The comforter was full of holes, and we could not find a plug to charge our phones, the lamp started shooting sparks. Breakfast if you only want a bagel and coffee you would be safe. Disappointed. It was pet friendly but no place for them to go outside.

Door keys would not work in rooms we were first assigned. Had to be moved to rooms with double beds instead of king.

Horrid place to stay

Posted Apr 28, 2015 on Hotels
No shower curtains, broken air conditioners, closed pool! Our baseball team was in Troy for the weekend for a tournament and we all stayed at this hotel because it was the only one with open rooms in the area. The rooms are run down with tread bare carpet, missing shower curtains, no towels, cracking tiles and just in bad need of repair. Several of our group had rooms with no AC! The young girl (working by herself) at the front desk was unable to offer any help of any kind for the problems with the rooms. When the manager was contacted, she said, "tell them to call on Monday and we will address their issues". We were there on a weekend so everyone was expected to just deal with the problems or leave. The pool was closed and we were not informed about that until the boys asked to swim and were told the pool does not open until May!! There were no issues or problems with the pool, they just don't open it until May. WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!
