Starting with check-in, things went south in a hurry. We requested and prepaid for a king bed room with a couch. The desk clerk said something about us being Expedia customers so we had to wait until later for a two queen room. I didn’t use my Marriott number because we booked through hotels.com. Inside the room the USB plugs did not work, none of them.
The hotel offered shuttle service to the airport, less than a mile away. Come to find out they don’t start until 6am. We had a 6:30 flight so had to find an alternative way to the airport. At 5:00 am the fares were very high. We went with the cheapest fare at $18.75 + tip. While waiting for our shuttle there was another car service there already to pick up a different customer. This is the first hotel on airport road where we have stayed that doesn’t have better shuttle service offered. We come through here multiple times a year and have stayed at many of the properties.
Finally, when a hotel says they have a bar and restaurant I expect more than a counter. I was not familiar with the Courtyard brand as we had given up on Marriott brand in general many years ago. Anyway, we ordered a burger and a buffalo chicken sandwich. After 40 minutes we found they had forgotten our order. I had already paid and tipped for food. What we received shortly after was not appealing. The hamburger was too fatty and the fries were lukewarm. I did not get the sandwich I ordered. I got slimy buffalo wings. I wish we’d gone to BK next door.
