The hotel room and grounds need to be freshened up a bit. The sidewalks need to be painted/cleaned and the landscape rock is dirty and messy. Finding a parking spot by the room was hard. After going out for dinner, we had to walk in a dark area a fair distance after parking to get back to our room. The toilet ran on and off all night. I chose to just turn the valve off unless I had to use the toilet. Refrigerator was luke warm when we arrived and barely cool the next morning. All in all the waitress in the breakfast dining area and the main desk counter help were the best part of the hotel stay.

HOW ANYONE RATED THIS HOTEL 4 OUT OF 5 I CAN NOT IPosted Oct 24, 2015
Pros: NOTHING,NOTHING AND NOTHING.
Cons: TEAR DOWN AND BUILD A NEW ONE OR TAKE THE NAME "DOUBLTREE" OFF. THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR THERE NAME.
Location: DID NOT EXPLORE THE AREA.
FIRST THEY SENT US TO A A ROOM AT LEAST 400 FT. FROM THE MAIN HOTEL TOWER. VERY DARK AND SMELLED, ASKED FOR A ROOM IN THE TOWER WITH SOME LIGHT. WE HAD LIGHT ON THE 6TH FLOOR. "BUT" IT WAS LIKE A STEP BACK INTO THE 50'S. CARPERT SMELLED, ROOM FRUNITURE WAS DATED. LOOKED LIKE WHAT WE STAYED IN YEARS AGO AND IT WAS HERE THE ENTIRE TIME. EVEN THE GIRL AT THE DESK AT CHECKOUT SAID IT WAS THE "OLDEST" DOUBLETREE AROUND. THE BELL BOY WHO LOADED OUR BAG'S ASKED "HOW WAS OUR STAY" WHEN I TOLD HIM ABOUT HOW OLD AND OUT OF DATE THE ROOMS WERE, HE SAID "WE GET THAT A LOT"..

UA Family Weekend VisitPosted Oct 13, 2015 on Hotels
Overall the stay was pretty good. At check in, the chocolate chip cookies were delicious. The room wifi was very weak and there was no cell service in the room so I had to go outside to make calls. That was not good since it was 100° outside. The beds were comfortable, but not queen size (only full size).

Close enough to UofA campus yet, far enough away, to avoid crowds.

An Old FavoritePosted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: Nice bed, bathroom, location, and patio from my room into the courtyard.
Cons: They used to give you fresh cookies from the oven. Now they give you stale cookies out of the warmer and they are cold and stale in seconds.
Location: Close to U of Arizona campus, El Con mall, Reid Park (good trail for running).
I have been staying at the Doubletree Tucson for over 20 years. Although this hotel definitely is showing its age, it is still my favorite choice when I go to Tucson based on location, cleanliness, staff, service. Although it is old, the hotel has spent the money to update it sufficiently to make it incredibly comfortable.
