This place sucks. It's worn out, dirty and poorly managed. 5-star resort? This is the Motel 6 of Marriott properties.
Only positive is the front desk hospitality. The gal that checked us in was friendly, efficient and helpful.
Room is garbage for the price. Outdated, visible wear on the nightstands and TV armoire/dresser. Water never really gets hot, just lukewarm. They have gone bargain basement with shampoo and the like; no individual units and what they have in their refillable bottles is absolute trash. And what's the deal with no real door on bathrooms these days? Barn doors, especially poorly installed barn doors, are just plain stupid. Mattress is rock hard, too.
Pool area is a joke. So bad we didn't even bother the next day. Dirty, dirty, dirty. We went late evening, and there were no clean towels that were easy to access (or folded), half empty cups, used towels and trash randomly strewn about, and it was ridiculously dark throughout the pool area. My girlfriend stubbed her toe on a concrete curb because of the lack of lighting. Pools are funky. Lots of paper and random crap in the lazy river, weird stuff touching my feet in the hot tub, and trash in the bottom of the pools.
EVERY SINGLE TABLE in the courtyard area was dirty. Whether it be cup rings, spills, empty glasses or dishes, nothing was being maintained.
5 Star resort folks. And they charge for that "privilege" nightly. The long and short is you'd have a better experience at a well run Hampton Inn.
