A Hotel In Need of Some TLC
Posted Jun 13, 2016 on Orbitz
First, this hotel is at least 20 minutes from the airport in an area that is best described as a barren wasteland of trailers and salvage yards. Second, it appears to be run by a skeleton staff of very young, inexperienced people who have insufficient training in customer service and hoteling. They're nice, and they mean well, but seemed to have only minimal skills and very dirty clothes. Third, the lobby, which resembles a Mexican village courtyard, is nice enough, but the waterfall in it's midst is deafening and the chlorine in the water reeks. Fourth, every single surface in the room and hallway of the floor I stayed on is stained, dinged, marked or torn, as if it had a long history of frat parties.
On a positive note, the room I was in was clean enough, and the restaurant wasn't half bad (which is a good thing considering I didn't have a car and there is literally nothing to eat for miles and miles). I really needed that gin and tonic served in a 20-ounce soda glass!
