Great Hotel

Posted Nov 17, 2017
Wonderful place to just relax and unwind. Liked that everything we needed was on the premises. The hotel staff was friendly and very accomodating. Will stay here again the next time we are in town.

It's a Westin

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Pros: Although the a new property, it is very well maintained.
Cons: Housekeeping failed to provide even basis amenities... soap, tissues, etc.
Location: Hiking, wine festivals, great restaurants, UA sports, etc
Usual comforts that you expect from a Westin property. Nice facilities, excellent food, and beautiful views of the Catalina mountains.

Cons: Please clean carpet. My 1-year old son was crawling around the room. When I picked him up his legs from knees down to the tops of his feet were black.
Overall is was still good but, the cleanliness in the rooms need to be addressed. My 1-year old son was crawling around the room. When I picked him up his legs from knees down to the tops of his feet were black. Really disturbing to know that the carpet had not been cleaned for who knows how long.

Nice resort - Expensive for what you get

Posted Oct 28, 2017
There was no one big issue -just several little 'things' that will keep us from going back to La Paloma. 1. We booked a king bed room and were given a room facing the back of the pool bar with two double beds. 2. The room smelled stuffy, unused and mildew. 3. If you wanted a drink or snack at the pool you had to go to the pool bar or restaurant - no servers were coming around the pool. 4. Every buffet, trip to the pool bar and other order had a 18% gratuity built in. If you had to work to get a drink you paid an extra 18% to do it. 5. In the morning the tiny black ants had to be washed down the shower drain before stepping into the shower. 6. One morning we had non-movable plans at 7:30 am and were guaranteed room service of fruit and OJ at 6:30 am sharp. At 6:50am I called to cancel room service because we were going to be leaving and was told that the food was on its way. We got it at 7:05 am and took it with us. 7. Apparently, I should have asked about the rather expensive "resort fee" not included in the room rate when checking-in as that was a check-out surprise 8. When we checked out the person at the desk asked how our stay was. I told her that the house-keeping staff was wonderful but there where a few things that we had mentioned during our stay that were never addressed. I gave her the list above verbally. She said that she hadn't heard complaints like that from other guests and wished me a nice day. So when we return to Tucson we will stay at another resort.

Weather was beautiful so waking up to the beautiful views, of the Sonoran desert, from all parts of this resort was a treat. Good selection of on sight places to eat/drink. I look forward to staying there again.

The first thing you'll Kyocera is that there's a "service fee" added onto your reservation. I wasn't provided any services during my stay. Next, be prepared to walk...and sweat. I spent a solid 10 minutes wandering around the property in the sun with the paper map they provided to find my room. The room was clean, but had a distinct odor that was musty in quality. After sweating out my suit while walking back to the lobby the next day for checkout, I wouldn't recommend spending your time or money here. Save your cash for a motel, the accommodations are comparable.

Great 5 star Desert Getaway

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: pool area, golf, and staff
Cons: outdoor cleanliness
Location: great location in foothills and with superb golf and restaurants.
Can't say enough about this place. I only give superlatives when they are due. Great view of mountains, great golf, wonderful service, and lots of fun to be had with water facilities including a swim up bar. The only down side is that it was the offseason and the outdoor walkways were fairly dusty and debris-filled, but not to dilapidated Motel 6 level by any means.
