Beautiful resort in the desert

Posted Feb 25, 2017
La Paloma is a beutiful resort and we really enjoyed the patio breakfast looking out on the golf course. The lsppool and workout facilities were great. We were a little surprised by the $25 tennis court fee especially since there was no one playing for most of the day.

Charges for EVERYTHING

Posted Feb 21, 2017
Pros: The view, location
Cons: Customer service, reduce resort fee if pools cannot be used due to inclement weather, don't charge for business center or internet, should come w stay
Location: There is plenty to do nearby, spectacular views
The deluxe room was smaller than expected. I thought the price I paid would cover the trip, but when you get there they charge you an additional $25.00 per day for the resort fee. It was a rainy weekend, so the pool wasn't used much, we didn't use the shuttle, they charged for internet separately and when we used the business room, they charged for that as well. Basically the only thing we got for the resort fee was extra bottled waters. Since they don't have an indoor pool and it happened to be rainy, they should look into that and bring the resort fee down. I just didn't feel it was worth the expense and then to be nickel and dimed when you arrive. That was disappointing. Other than this, the location and spectacular view was amazing, perhaps this is why they can get away w/the above.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We do apologize that you were not fully informed on what the resort fee includes. Part of what our resort service fee covers is complimentary internet access that can be used on your mobile devices; there are additional costs if you would like to upgrade to a wider bandwidth or high speed capabilities. If you are needing to use our business center for boarding passes, that service is complimentary as well. There is a charge for additional internet usage for the business center when browsing the internet. I do apologize that weather prevented you from taking full advantage of our revitalizing amenities but hope that you will consider giving us another opportunity to ‘Wow’ with our Signature Westin customer. Good resort but spread out in various wings .

Posted Feb 14, 2017
Pros: beautiful Mt. setting. Nice pools.
Cons: Free shuttle to the airport because it cost over $60 one way.
Location: Good restaurants near by.
I enjoyed the resort and rooms. We had a handi- capped person in our group and it was difficult for her to always have to ask for a cart due to the far away position of our room. Their lobby also had way to many steps to various levels. Not a good resort for those who have trouble going up and down a lot of stairs.

Best lodging in the area

Posted Jan 28, 2017
Terrific upper middle level property. Pretty far from town but in a pretty spot at the base of a mountain range. Comfy room, superb staff. No room in main building so you have to be outside to reach all facilities. Great pool area. I nice resort Buffet breakfast ($22) disappoints but room service is good. Would stay again if I didnt have to be closer to downrtown

Not everything I expected

Posted Jan 26, 2017
Pros: View from the lobby was great, and multiple hot tubs allowed for relaxing soaks in the evenings
Cons: Handling of lost and found
Location: There is a great hike you can take that is 5 min drive away- "Finger Rock trailhead."
It was a nice hotel with a fantastic view from the lobby. That being said, we were quite disappointed with our room being in the "basement." The building with our room was built on the side of a hill, and the entrance to the room was the basement level. It felt like going into the dungeon. There was a sliding glass door on the other side with a couple chairs there, but the view was another building, and because that was not the keyed door we couldn't use it to leave and enter our room. Granted, we got a good deal on Expedia, but we still expected better. Overall the service and amenities were good. We did have to ask for the robes which should have been in our room. They have a thing where you can opt out of full housekeeping and get some coupons for the restaurant. In theory it was a good idea, and we did use the coupons towards a breakfast, but the problem was that the housekeeping was so inconsistent (rather than the every 3rd day that we were told it would be), that we didn't know what to expect, so had to keep going to the desk in the evenings to ask for coffee for the next morning. When we left, unfortunately we left some items in the closet. Their lost and found system is slow, automated, impersonal, and with no real results. Nobody has called me back, and it looks like I am not getting my shirts back. :(

Generous wonderful Stay

Posted Jan 24, 2017
We stayed at The Westin for one evening to celebrate my husbands birthday. My sister also stayed in an adjoining room. When checking in my sister requested that she have access to our room to decorate and surprise my hubbby. They not only put our rooms together but upgraded us to a suite at no charge. We had an amazing stay and truly thank the fine people who treated way beyond our expectations.

Getaway

Posted Jan 6, 2017
We enjoyed the Red Door Spa. Staff was nice. Only issue was in the morning of check-out I requested a Bellman at a certain time to help us with our luggage. He did not show as I requested, so to avoid being late to the airport, we rushed to the car carrying our own bags. Don't offer a service if you can't guarantee what was requested. Other than that, it was a relaxing time away.

Nice Views

Posted Jan 3, 2017
Pros: The views, and amenities are wonderful.
Had a nice stay for 4 nights to celebrate the new year. Beds and bathrooms are wonderful. Only downside is the long walk to the rooms.
