Good for a night's rest!

Posted Nov 23, 2016
Pros: Clean, neat appearance, comfortable room and bed, complete breakfast. There was a laundry room on our floor as well as ice, drink, and snack machines.
Cons: We had a handicapped accessible room, but it was located at the very end of the hallway at the farthest location from the elevator.
Location: We stayed there to be near the Natchez Trace, which we were driving the next day. It was a convenient location for accessing the Trace.
This hotel has recently been renovated. The room was clean and well-furnished, the mattress firm and comfortable. There were four pillows on each bed of different softness and we had a good night's rest. The check-in process was simple and speedy (we had reserved through Expedia) and the staff person on duty was efficient and congenial. The breakfast area was clean and well laid out, and the person on duty there was exceptional. She was available to help, if needed, and extended herself to open an outside door for us when our room key wasn't working. The food was good and menu generous with pre-cooked omelets, sausage, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, pastries and waffle maker. The biscuits were a bit dry and the bananas were over ripe, but oranges and apples were good. There was a lot of noise in the early evening from nearby train switching, but it quieted down later in the evening.

Overall a good stay. Hotel staff was friendly. Breakfast has several choices of hot and cold foods. Hotel did offer cookies and beer in the afternoons to guests. Negatives: Did have some road noise at night from busy intersection next to hotel. Only stayed two nights and was surprised that when I came back to my room the second day that the cleaning staff hadn't been to my room while I was out -- still had trash from previous night and no fresh towels, etc. Since I was solo traveler, wasn't really a problem for me and never alerted staff to oversight to give them opportunity to correct problem.

In town for a wedding. Staff greeted us with a smile and did a great job accommodating us.

Was a great stay, however housekeeping could have done a better job of vacuuming and dusting.
