Unique Place

Posted Jul 6, 2017
Many antique tools, license plates, appliances, farming equipment, etc that depict life in old west. Many beautiful and flowering succulents Could not get WiFi to work, deadbolt loose, doesn't work and shower head in need of replacement

It's about average

Posted Apr 4, 2017
It's tucked away in a residential area. Rooms are clean and laid out like apartments with full kitchens. Very roomy but nothing luxurious. It appears to be an apartment complex converted to a hotel. Probably really good for long term stay in the area.

Thank you for your comments about our very roomy suites with full kitchen. We are indeed off the main highway so the guests enjoy the absence of traffic noise and the busyness of the main thoroughfare.

Surprising Great

Posted Apr 2, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel doesn't look like much, but the rooms are apartment size, clean, and well stocked with plates, pans, full size stove and frig. Extra towels, comfortable shower, in all a nice clean comfortable place to stay. I'll be staying here with my family next time I'm in the area! There was a problem with the satellite due to high winds, but I can't blame that on the hotel, besides, we didn't travel to Joshua Tree to watch tv.

Manager was very kind and accommodating. The room was nice and clean, had clean towels and aplenty for a nights stay.

Wonderful away-from-home apartment, but....

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Location: Joshua Tree desert blooms!
It was wonderful to have two bedrooms and two(!) baths, fully equipped kitchen away from home. Clean and quiet at a price that one room generally costs. But, I had requested an accessible suite with no stairs and the manager never told us in advance that we would have to climb stairs. No warning. Too late to find another place. It was a struggle, and showed no sensitivity.

Our deepest apologies for your experience. It was a miscommunication from our new (2 weeks old) internet channel that takes reservations from Expedia and automatically enters all of your information into our system. We went back to check and found your request embedded with other messages unrelated to accessible suite. If we had noticed the request, we would have assigned you to a downstairs unit. Normally, when we check in a guest, we give a tour of the hotel on the way to your suite. At that point, the guest could communicate the issue and we could readily correct it. However, you were a self-checked in, no one was there to make the change. Once again our apologies. Our front office operates 24/7 and would have loved to make an immediate change. Thank you for your invaluable comment. We have communicated this issue to our new software provider and is working to resolve it. We truly appreciate your 4 out of 5 rating.

Big rooms. Very close to Joshua Tree.

Posted Mar 17, 2017
Pros: Rooms are big: we had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and it was nice to have a kitchen.
Cons: Water pressure in the kitchen was poor, but the shower had great pressure.
Location: Location is great if you are going to Joshua Tree.
Very cool place. The outside décor was original and fun!

Ideal for families

Posted Mar 6, 2017
Pros: Cleanliness, price.
Cons: Plumbing.
Location: The place is located off hwy. 62. It is a short drive to the park entrance. BofA and a few restaurants nearby.
I reserved this place for a hiking trip to Joshua Tree for 3 people. We arrived by 7:30 and found the hotel in a dark, off the main hwy. street. After ringing the bell and waiting a few minutes for the manager to come, we were informed that they had a some over booking issues, and were given the choice of a 2-bedroom house belonging to the owner directly adjacent to the hotel. We looked at the place which happened to be larger and more comfortable than our original suite and agreed to take that. Everything appeared to be clean and tidy expect for a absurdly low hot water pressure (literally trickling) which made taking showers longer, and lack of a bed comforter (bed sheets only) in the master bedroom, but we did find a blanket in the closet and an extra blanket that my wife brought to keep warm. All and all we found our stay pleasant and quiet, and I would recommend Sunnyvale Gardens for short stays. Don't let the creepy, dark neighborhood fool you.
