Inconsistent performance for a Hilton Doubletree

Posted Nov 27, 2017
Pros: the location
Cons: see experience details above - too numerous to list again
Location: The metro is half a mile away as is all the shopping you will ever need to do. Even vegan options nearby: chipotle, pf chang, mixing bowl
Our stay began with a one hour delay - to 11pm - for a serviceable room (the first room assigned had no hot water and the engineer sent to fix it was not successful). The second day (Thanksgiving) the room (with a great pool, btw) was cold because the outside door was left open for an indeterminate amount of time (Lifeguard's English not so good). The third day, the room cleaners did not replace/replenish toilet tissue, bath mat, drinking glasses, water bottles, etc. (had to acquire most urgent items from the front desk). The fourth day the shuttle did not pick us up from Tyson's as promised (call to front desk mislead us about pick up location). While the hotel reimbursed us for the uber and comped us for a breakfast, there are some serious issues. If you don't mind dealing with the issues (and the cold elevator - construction issue?), the hotel is more than adequate. Make sure you understand the breakfast and parking policies, if they are factors for you.

Nice but Loud

Posted Nov 25, 2017
During our stay they were under construction from 6am-6pm or so. It happened to be right above our room. It was bothersome to be woken up at that time the days we stayed. I would recommend if you’re going to be under construction - have them start around 10am or so just for the sake of your customers being able to sleep.

Clean and Comfortable

Posted Nov 15, 2017
Pros: I like the cookie they give you and the two water bottles in the room were a nice touch, and really appreciated.
Cons: The beds and pillows were not very comfortable. Not what I expected from a Hilton.
Location: The nearest metro stop is a bit of a trek walking. There's not many sidewalks so you're basically walking next to 4-lane highway.
I went for a business trip, and this was one of the only hotels still available in the area. It's a half hour metro ride into DC. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. I liked the pub connected to the hotel, and the gym was nice too. The metro stop is a bit of a trek from the hotel. It's not a long walk but there's not many sidewalks around, so you're basically walking next to a 4-lane highway. They offer a hotel shuttle bus to the Spring Hill metro but not to the Tysons metro stop. Overall, good stay.

Pros: All the staff members I came in contact with were both accommodating and friendly.
Cons: I was not offered the much advertised cookie that was such a part of the Doubletree hotels.
The room I received was clean and comfortable. I loved all the extras like the slippers and robe and the free internet. Also appreciate the coffeemaker and refrigerator. I had everything I needed.

Nice hotel close to shopping

The only thing that I can think of that would have made my family’s stay more comfortable would be if there was a microwave in the room or one easily accessible.

I'll return

Pros: Staff & location
The hotel was fine for the weekend conference I was attending. Staff seemed very attentive. I pointed out that the toilet seat was loose and that the bathroom light was out in my bedroom and they proceeded to fix it immediately. No complaints. I would repeat the experience for another conference held in the hotel.

Paid for Queen, given double

Posted Oct 9, 2017
Lobby area very nice. Room was small, cluttered. Paid for 2 queen beds. Room had 2 doubles. Asked manager to switch. No other rooms available. Was not compensated or satisfied as there was no resolution.
