Hotel is so so for the money. Renovations going on. The staff is friendly. Location is close to universal. Have stayed in nicer for the same money. It is pet friendly.

ROACHES!

Pros: The chain I like, this location I do not
Cons: no more roaches, the rooms were so musty the bed was damp. Eww. Also, free shuttle is one trip to and one trip from, if you miss it you need a taxi.
Location: It is Orlando, you can do anything
Three roaches in the bathroom over a two day span...enough said!!!!!

Nice room, good prices.

The hotel La Quinta near Universal Studios is good, best deal for the price. Be aware they cut off the complimentary breakfast at 9:00 AM even on weekends, rather than 10 AM like the competition, which cuts their value down a bit.

There was some Renovations going on but overall 3.

The location was good some Renovations going on the room was clean can't comment on continental breakfast did not make it down elevator was very slow did not like that the ice machine was on the first floor and I was on the third floor.. I would stay there again

Decent hotel close to Universal studios

Pros: Very close to universal, Friendly check in/check out staff, Free breakfast Cons: Wifi was extremely slow, rooms are outdated, walls are so thin we couldn't sleep the first night as we could hear everything the people next to us were saying until 4am, Vending machines were either out of order or sold out and when my husband asked the front desk for assistance the woman told him there's nothing that could be done - didn't even provide suggestions on where to grab some water, Shuttle to universal pickup and drop off times do not work well with park times so we used Uber, Worst part was the card entry was broken and so anyone could access the hotel. I would not recommend this place unless it was a quick 1 night stop over.

Close to Universal and that’s it

This is not our go-to La Quinta and this will definitely be our first and last stay here. Somewhere in the description of the hotel it should say that its being remodeled and there will be construction and noise. Aside from that, all side access doors to hotel are completely unlocked!!! ANYONE can walk right in at any time. There’s also major construction going on in the highways all around this hotel wich makes getting in and out complicated. Very disappointing stay to say the least.

Check your room before putting down your bags

Hotel is in great location. About a 20 minute walk and 5-10 minute drive to Universal parks but that’s about the only perk. We got to hotel and laid down for few minutes after being tired from flight. We got up and noticed tiny bugs/mites all over the nightstand, dresser, and desk area. After noticing one we noticed another, and another, they were everywhere and could only assume they were on beds too. We went down to front desk and they were quick to give us another room. They didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience and acted like this was common occurrence and happens everyday. The new room didn’t seem to have bugs atleast. If you stay here I would go over your room with fine tooth comb before setting down your bags on anything. To end our trip on the last night someone was robbed and shot in the parking lot that we had walked through the night before. The parking lot became a crime scene and we were unable to leave to get food or do anything else. This was not the hotels fault by any means but the stay was less than ideal. You get what you pay for.
