This hotel and its staff were a pleasure! We arrived at the train station and walked about 10minutes to the hotel. We were immediately impressed by the old world charm of its public spaces and the amenities of indoor pool, sauna, & steam bath. The buffet breakfast with made to order eggs was a delightful way to start the day and an afternoon teatime was a nice touch. Located centrally right in the middle between Garmisch & Partenkichen, which were both walkable, we will be happy to return!

The hotel staff were caring and kind. The rooms smell musty...it is over 100 years old and that is part of the charm. Breakfast was good, and had many options.

Great Hotel, Centrally Located
This was a great hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It is right on the river between both old downtowns, only a few blocs from the train station. This definitely still has the feel of a German spa hotel. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were large and comfortable but had older furnishings. I would definitely stay here again. It felt like a fun, older hotel rather than a cookie cutter chain hotel.

Good hotel for walking distance to FusssPlatz of Garmisch. Its a bit dated but still a good place to reside. Staff was VERY helpful and breakfast I did like.

Charming traditional German hotel
Second time staying at this hotel (last time was 2013). Charming hotel, nice people, large nicely appointed rooms, beds are a little more firm than we prefer (typically German), super soft squishy pillows. Breakfast was good - excellent coffee! - with quite a few choices for us non-meat eaters. Balcony door barely latched - with a little finagling it would not pop open. It needs to be fixed for security reasons. We would stay here again.

Hotel is near the center of town so it’s easy to walk everywhere. Breakfast doesn’t start until 7 am but they gave me a tray of coffee service earlier. My only complaint is the bed is short. I’m just under 6 ft and had to sleep diagonally.

Great stay at a lovely property. Located within walking distance of restaurants and shops and great views of the mountains. Loved the ability to hear the river running through the city right across the street. Fantastic breakfast and wonderful staff! Would definitely come back!

Nice breakfast, included in the rate, good swimming pool to refresh in hot days, room was spacious and comfortable bed, although two single beds together, wifi was not the best, it did let me down.

Nice hotel, but front desk personnel were a bit standoffish. No ac or fan and a storm blew in so we couldn’t keep doors/windows open or tons of water came in. Our ‘patio’ door wouldn’t close & we had to use towels to clean the floors. This wasn’t fixed despite us being told it would be. Good breakfast!

Nice room with a great view of the mountains. Nice balcony to sit on. They had a pool so it was good to come back to the hotel and cool off. Good breakfast. Free parking

Very convenient hotel booked at very short notice. Great spa area & garden. Shower holder in the room could not be repaired in the week. Laundry order was not sent as requested. Room serviced each day.

This hotel checked all the boxes. Close enough to the train station at around a 7min brisk walk. Downtown Garmisch was on the same street and a short walk away. The included breakfast hit the spot too!

Cozy and Beautiful Hotel
This hotel is beautiful, rustic, and very comfortable. Our room was clean and perfect for a two-night stay. Breakfast was wonderful, including the staff. The afternoon tea time was very enjoyable! All staff members were professional, friendly, and helpful. The location was very convenient and close to the Christmas market. We really enjoyed this hotel, and will stay again.

Definitely NOT a 4star hotel
I’ve been to Europe a lot and this hotel is at most a 3 star range - as in cleanliness (dust everywhere. I had to clean/wipe myself), age of furniture, bathroom, etc is at that range. Even with signs, hotel staff intruded without knocking twice. Found the night staff to be particularly annoyed at our enquiries.
