The hotel has an excellent location with secure parking. Although you could park for free on the street if you preferred. We had a nice big room but we could have done with airconditioning and there was no safe. Other than that all good. Staff very helpful and courteous.

Stayed here after a disastrous river cruise turned land tour. Our 2 nights were wonderful! The hotel is in a perfect location to explore old Regensburg. We shopped at 4 or 5 nearby Christmas markets, and even bought 2 suitcases to bring things home. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are very comfortable, and the staff that we spoke to were all very friendly and welcoming. Regensburg is such a beautiful town, and the Sorat Insel hotel is the perfect place to stay while there.

Beware of being booking a classic room just because you want a double bed. The room description does not say the room comes without a phone, tea and coffee facilities, bottle of water. Restaurant I am told is never open in the evenings now so you have to go out. Also internet code is changed at 8am so if you have a room without a phone remember to get the new one before you go to bed. I have stayed there many times and never had this issue before so it must be new policies or they have not updated expedia.

The hotel is directly on the river. Very quaint and romantic. The breakfast was reasonably priced and offered a variety of delicious foods. Highly recommend this hotel. Regensburg is a great city to tour.

Regensburg Old Town
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and you can tell that the bathroom has been remodeled which was fantastic. I know the hotel used to be a factory, but even with the heat on the room didn’t warm up until well into the night. This is nothing that the hotel can control, but written for those that get chilled easily. I would stay here again.

Love this hotel!
We were very pleased with the Sorat Insel. The hotel was very modern and clean. The lobby was pretty and the location was excellent. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely book the Sorat when we return. Great experience!

Great location, but don't go when it is hot
This is an excellent location. It's a hotel minus A/C, so be ready to spend a hot night in the summer time. Also, pray there a no emergencies because exit doors on the floors are all locked (and stayed that way after we alerted the staff)

Really great hotel overlooking medieval quarter
This is a very nice hotel, not perfect, but very very nice. The room is clean and very comfortable and well decorated with a great big tub. The view over the river from my room was spectacular—but the window had irremovable screens, which mars the view. Minor issue. An interesting, renovated old factory building across the river from the medieval quarter. I favor repurposed buildings and this pulled it off fairly well (although my room carpet, while clean, was showing its age). The breakfast was among the best on offer anywhere—and I have been cycling the world for 900 days. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking river and cathedral and Stone Bridge was absolutely wonderful. A really really nice place to stay.

Great hotel, lovely location, fantastic staff
Hotel is ideally located for the Town Centre and the local Xmas markets. Our room was great with the added bonus of a view of the Danube. Breakfast is great value, car parking underneath the hotel works well, and staff are really helpful.

Beautiful hotel in a very cool location. I know it is typical of German hotel rooms, but even in our sweet the bed was just 2 single beds pushed together. Worst pillows we had in the 6 German hotels we stayed in during our trip.

Fabulous location, but mediocre hotel.
On a small island in the centre of the Danube this could be a wonderful hotel with great views. But the decor and furnishings let it down, there is no glamour. Huge 3 storey atrium overlooking the river but most of the floor space is taken up with a lightly used bar. It needs a good architect to maximise the potential and revenues. The hotel name should be changed to show the Danube location. Just don’t accept a room by the restaurant when there is a party, the techno music and conversations under the room went on until 3am, not much sleep for me.

I was told TWICE that this hotel had air conditioning. You list in on your site as having air conditioning. Our room DID NOT have air conditioning and it was absolutely sweltering. After a 12 hour travel day, I was unable to get any sleep in this terribly hot room. It was truly awful.

Beautiful historic area. The hoel was nice as well except the roo mb s had no air coditioning and the outside tempetaures exceeded 90 degrees F. The rooms were hot at ight a d we could not sleep well. There also was no refridgerator .

Great location within easy walking distance to Old City and yet quiet and with beautiful view of city. Rooms were spacious ( Jr. Suite ) and well equipped. Only negative was that we had requested air conditioned rooms and if they were on, they were not working as room was quite warm on arrival. Thankfully, it was a cool evening so with the windows opened it was not too hot for sleeping. Front desk staff were very accommodating and spoke English well.

Perfect location to enjoy this beautiful town. We had a "Comfort Room" which was exceptionally spacious with views of the Danube - just out the window. Comfortable bed ensured a good nights sleep.
