Upper West Side

Posted Sep 12, 2017
I've stayed here before and it is good hotel if you want to be on the Upper West Side. The rooms are quite dated in decor and the carpet wasn't very clean. It needs a refurbishment, although, it seems to state it has had one. I kept thinking, not the 5th floor.

Great location, uninspiring service and amenities

Posted Sep 11, 2017
The hotel had a great location close to central park and the Museum of Natural History. The staff was generally very transactional with one notable exception. The room was nothing special and the shower area in the bathroom had no barrier on the ground to contain the water from flowing into the main bathroom area.

Classic Hotel in Lovely Area.

Posted Sep 10, 2017
Pros: Its location. Comfortable, pleasant, clean rooms. Stylish, classical design. Air conditioned. Quiet.
Cons: Expensive, but all hotels are in NYC.
Location: Safe, diversified, pleasant area.. Easy, quick subway link to downtown. Lots of eating and drinking places nearby. Short walk to Central Park.
The Lucerne is a classic, stylish hotel in a wonderful area. It benefits from its location on the Upper West Side and from its traditional style and comforts and transport links (three minutes from 79th. St. Subway.) This was our second stay as we recognised its advantages and benefits last year. Staff are efficient and pleasant and there are perks such as complementary newspapers. Whilst breakfast is not included in the room rate and the attached restaurant appears to be rather expensive there are plenty of cheaper eating options nearby.
