Love this place!

Posted Nov 20, 2017
Pros: We loved that the pool stayed open 24 hours, a night swim was a great way to end our vacation. We will definitely come back!
Location: Definitely grab a cup of coffee at Customs Coffee (about 2 blocks away), we bought 3 bags of coffee there before we left it was so good!
What a great find! I am so happy I decided to stay at the Skylark, after reading many 5-star reviews I was definitely not let down! Their continental breakfast was pretty impressive, you won't find stale bagels here! The Skylark provided eggs, sourdough toast, and granola that they make IN HOUSE! I stayed here with a friend to celebrate her birthday and asked the manager if we could arrange to have the room set-up with balloons or something for her. He went above and beyond and piled the room with balloons and made a bandy bar bouquet! All within my budget! My friend was so so happy. Staff was super friendly, location was walking distance to a couple restaurants and coffee shops and just a quick Buzz ride to downtown.

Perfect Spot

Posted Nov 6, 2017
It was a cheap lyft fair to the main area. Also walking distance to the club I was going to. Went for pride and the parade started a couple of blocks away from the hotel. Didn't have to bother with driving and parking. The staff in the morning was really friendly and the breakfast was a perfect start. Im planning on coming back soon.

just found my Palm Springs hotel!

Posted Oct 11, 2017
Pros: Everything
Cons: Things aren't all shiny and new, but that is part of the charm here.
Location: The location is great, but I didn't venture out this time. I was here on business.
I've traveled to Palm Springs for business several times over the last couple of years, and each time I tried a different hotel because I didn't love the ones I'd tried. This one I loved. Granted, I happened to be there when there were very few other guests, but everything was great. The location is excellent. The pool and hot tub stay open all night! I don't think I've ever encountered that before. If there are many guests, I wonder if that creates noise at all hours, but when I was there it meant a relaxing swim under the moonlight at midnight. Fantastic! The staff person I met (don't remember her name) was incredibly helpful and nice. The continental breakfast had fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs, as well as juices, bread to toast, cereal, and, of course, coffee. No decaf though. I was told at check out that they plan to do extensive renovations (on sleeping rooms, the pool, and will put in a restaurant and bar) starting July 2018, after which prices will likely increase. I was sad to hear that, because it is really charming and perfectly lovely as it is now. But those improvements sound interesting too.

Ok pool

Posted Aug 19, 2017
The staff was excellent but our main problems were: 1. The water pressure in our bathroom sink was close to nonexistent. 2. No control over the shower's water temperature, either hot as hell or cold as ice, no in between! 3. The ice machine was broken. They still provided ice but it was thru the front desk which closes after 11pm.... If these issues somehow get resolved, I would probably stay there again.... they have a pool and jacuzzi open 24/7 and the beds were quite comfortable.

Cute Hotel

Posted Aug 17, 2017
I really enjoyed my stay. The only thing I didn't care for was that the sunbrellas were attached to cafe tables instead of being available to use by the chaise lounges. Another suggestion is to have vending machines available since there is no restaurant or bar, although 7-11 isn't too far away. Al in all, this is a great place with a great location.

Good place for a nice getaway

Posted Aug 7, 2017 on Hotels
Overall we had a nice stay at the Skylark & will likely be back. But please keep in mind that although it's very well kept & cute, it is an older little hotel. Unfortunately during our stay there was a plumbing issue that was a bit disruptive. The woman at the front desk was very nice & apologetic, but unfortunately there was nothing that could be done until after we checked out. While I understand things happen, I assumed the hotel would somehow try to make it up to us, whether it be reimbursing the resort fee or possibly a promo code for a future booking? But we weren't offered anything like that. Again it's okay & I understand but it would have been nice. The ice machine was also out so if you wanted ice you had to go to the front desk, but our room had a fridge so it wasn't a big deal. The pool is nice & relaxing & the buzz stop is very close by so those factors alone made it a pleasant stay. Add in the nice people working there & free parking & it made for a pleasant quick getaway!
