Very nice location.

Posted Feb 27, 2018
Pros: Nice location.
Cons: This is a really nice place. Not fancy but comfortable. I don't think they need to improve much.
Location: Quiet but convenient location. Scenic. Easy to get to the downtown area and French quarter.
It was nice to stay in this very nice area of New Orleans. It was quiet and scenic. I could easily travel to the downtown area and French quarter on the trolley that was directly out front. 95% of the staff were extremely pleasant. Room was comfortable.

Good hotel

It was nice! The air conditioner was leaking and our bathroom sink got clogged, but things happen. Everybody was nice and very hospitable.

Affordable spot in the Garden District

Nice room, good location for Loyola and Tulane. Not the friendliness staff. Breakfast is supposed to be available from 6-10 but at 6:45 items were still being brought out, no salt pepper etc.

Great Location & Excellent Amenities

Posted Jan 12, 2018
Pros: Quality of amenities & location in beautiful Garden District.
Cons: Breakfast selections were a bit disappointing considering cost of lodging.
Location: Perfect location. Super Dome, World War II Museum, Mardi Gras World, French Quarter are easily accessible by street car within 50 ft of entrance.
Everything we were looking for in a 3 night New Year's weekend stay. Convenient location to all attractions but far enough away from the night life to feel secure in a relaxing environment. Transportation option for use of the street car line is a big plus!

Great location!

Posted Jan 3, 2018 on Hotels
The location is very safe, and the street car (tram) to the French Quarter stops in front of the hotel. We bought a 24-hour pass for the street care for three dollars, which was very convenient. A restaurant that serves Mexican food is attached to the hotel, and there are other restaurants near the hotel.

Very comfortable and reasonably priced hotel

Posted Dec 28, 2017
Pros: Very comfortable, reasonable price, great location.
Cons: Fix the toilet seat issue, cover some of the lights
Location: The location is right on St. Charles Avenue in the Garden District. Within easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants on Magazine Street.
The Best Western is a very comfortable hotel, and very reasonably priced for the Garden District in New Orleans. My room was large, big comfortable king-sized bed. Room included a coffee maker. The only complaints: 1) The placement of the toilet and the bathroom counter behind it mean that when you put the toilet seat up it immediately falls back down. You have to hold it up while you use the toilet. 2) There are an unbelievable number of little glowing lights in the room at night - smoke detector, CO detector, very bright clock radio, microwave, air freshener, TV standby, plug for AC/Heat, and five little lights and the air temperature on the AC/Heat if you leave the cover open. Enough light to find your way to the bathroom without any nightlight. I covered the clock radio and microwave, but still!

Business Travel in New Orleans

Posted Dec 17, 2017 on Hotels
Great place to stay. Away from downtown but easy access to trolley to go downtown. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Area seemed to be safe for late night strolls. I would stay there again. Friendly staff. Breakfast was only so-so except for grits which were great. This was a business trip and this hotel worked out great for this purpose.
