Bed bugs in room 405

Posted Nov 29, 2017
My Doctor confirmed and diagnosed me with the worst case of bed bug bites he had ever seen. We drove up from Santa Fe over Thanksgiving and stayed at Uptown Hyatt Place. We were truly impressed with the staff and hotel until I woke up with bad bites all over my back and stomach, I gave it s few days thinking I ate bad shellfish at a holiday buffet, but my doctor confirmed twice they were indeed the worst case of bed bug bites he’s ever seen. I have been in bed sick and on steroids for seven days now. Avoid this hotel at all costs, they did refund our money, I’m just fortunate my young daughter didn’t sleep in the bed that had them. The hotel manager denied my complaint, enough said!

Good location

Posted Nov 28, 2017
Pros: Clean, comfortable and good value. Breakfast is always good quality and there is variety of choice.
Cons: Maybe the Hyatt Place Group should provide staff with a uniform that clearly identifies them as staff members. Very casual appearance!
Location: Close to stores, restaurants and freeway. Lively area.
One short, whistle-blow stop overnight. Close to all amenities, restaurants and just minutes from the main I-40 freeway. Comfortable, courteous staff. Always stay at a Hyatt Place!

Thank you for your comments. There are several different options on the uniforms thereby making the associates comfortable in what they wear. Shehnaz Mehta GM

Very Pleasant Stay

Posted Nov 22, 2017
A very pleasant stay. Food was excellent both from the restaurant and for breakfast. The evening staff member, Michael C., was superb. He was very friendly, helpful and a model for the way I'm sure Hyatt wants its members to work with quests.

Window to front of hotel and near the side exit

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Pros: Clean and easy access to parking.
Cons: Elevator was making really bad noises.
Location: The elephant bar is no good. The food is below satisfactory. We went to Old town and really loved Monica's El Portal. Really fresh, authentic food!
Hi- I was given the room on the first floor overlooking the front of the hotel and near the side entrance. I was a little nervous, but managed to have a good night's sleep. The iron I used for my tshirt the next day actually stained my shirt. Since it was for a work event, I was not happy. But, otherwise all was pleasant. I do have a $15 charge pending from Hyatt which I do not know what it's about?!? I will have to look into it since I checked out to make sure I didn't have incidentals. My room was already paid previous to stay.

Thank you for your feedback. The $15 is just an authorization and must have dropped off by now if you had no incidentals. Come back and see us again.

Not good.

Posted Oct 23, 2017
1) when I got there the top sheet had a stain on it, had to call for it to be replaced; 2) next day, I left my room at 8:30 AM and returned at 5:30 PM to find it had never been cleaned; 3) one of the 2 elevators was out the whole time I was there; 4) there are ice machines on only the 3rd and 5th floors, and no vending machines at all; 5) one of the two beside lamps did not work. What happened to Hyatt? Very disappointing.

Reservation cancelled

Posted Oct 10, 2017
We had a reservation for 2 nights. When we arrived we were informed our room had a "plumbing" problem and would have to stay else where as they were full. They handled everything for us. Put us up at a comparable hotel and paid for it. Then when we returned for night 2 they upgraded our room, etc. all in all they handled a bad situation very well. This is also a great location to restaurants and shopping.

Great stay, as always with Hyatt Place

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: Everything. Love the scent in the lobby.
Cons: Everything was great
Location: Great location and proximity to the high way, shopping, food etc.
If Hyatt Place is an option, we always choose to stay there. They always have their signature smell in the lobby (orange and vanilla I think?) the rooms are always super clean, and you can't beat their breakfast! We came to ABQ 2 years ago for the Balloon Fiesta and stayed at the Marriott (don't remember seeing the Hyatt on the search) The room was double in price, HALF the size, felt old and dirty, and to our surprise, did not offer any breakfast at all. Was very disappointed. Absolutely loved the experience at the Hyatt this time around. No complaints!

Good location

Posted Sep 30, 2017
Pros: Good location, right off the highway and in the middle of shopping and restaurants.
Cons: Front desk service.
Hotel was predictably ok. I'd booked a king room and at check-in the front desk person for some reason tried to tell me that Expedia reservations didn't guarantee a room type - which was both odd and untrue. I had to make a bit of a fuss before they'd honor the reservation instead of putting me in a queen room.
