Nice old hotel with charm

Posted Dec 21, 2015
Pros: Old school charm
Cons: Upgrade TV's
Location: Center city with restaurants and bars close by. Tours of local brewery great
A nice old hotel 1912 that has much charm with difficulty competing with all the new competition. Our stay was enjoyable and priced right. I hope it can stay open for others to experience.

Historical hotel still has its charm

Posted Nov 10, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel was beautiful, although you could tell it was old (although I liked to call it well aged). Parking was a breeze and it wasn't a loud or busy area of the city. The elevators were super small but the room was HUGE! Probably the largest room I'd stayed in for a standard price ever. It felt like an apartment more so than a hotel room. But the decor was very dated - but in a good way. You could almost feel the history and there was a lovely little display about the hotel's history in the lobby. The staff were extraordinarily nice and helpful.

Beautiful hotel!!

Posted Oct 24, 2015
Beautiful old hotel. Very easy check in, room was clean. Bed was comfortable (for a hotel bed), didn't wake up with the normal "hotel bed" backache. Bar was nice, but was closed when we got back from our event at 11.30 or so. (We were there for a while in the afternoon, but they ran out of Bud Light because 2 weeks ago they got a wrong shipment..? 2 weeks ago?) Great place to stay for an event downtown. Will definitely stay there again, and highly recommend to our friends.

It was sad... Such potential

Posted Oct 20, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel Utica would be a great historic hotel if they would upgrade their rooms. New carpet needed, updated bathroom needed, still had a box TV set. With the size of the rooms they could include a loveseat or an additional chair to add flair. We had a sticky bathroom floor and had to clean someone else's soap ring from the tub before using it. We paid way too much for the Motel 6 accommodations in what could potentially be a nostalgic hotel. It was sad.
