Classic hotel. Architecturally gorgeous.

Posted Dec 5, 2016
Location: Ocean Blue around the corner - great upscale seafood restaurant with city views.
I like older hotels with character. This ones got it all. Its not new but its well kept. Big upgraded bathroom, very clean. You feel like you are back in the 20's. And it is soon to be renovated again.

DEMOLITION, RENOVATIONS, CONSTRUCTION ONGOING

Posted Nov 30, 2016
Pros: That it is a heritage building.
Cons: The hotel should advise guests on line that there is construction and renovations ongoing at the hotel.
Demolition was occurring on part of the hotel adjacent to the parking lot creating a lot of noise, dust and reduction in parking. When we entered the lobby it was dirty with mud and dust. Same for the elevator with only one available for guests. Then at breakfast there were construction guys in the dining room setting up scaffolding, running a noisy air compressor and leaving an outside door propped open letting cold air into the room. A totally lousy time for breakfast!!!

Pros: Going home
Cons: Clean it and make the food better.
The deluxe.....!!!!breakfast what a joke. I wouldn't give it to my dog. The place is so run down. We get on the elevator was full of mudd...!!!big time and when you get off the floor of the lobby was full of mud. The food was cold even the coffee. Not very happy. The worst part was that they never even cleaned it. It was like that the whole time. It's terrible.

Pros: As a business traveler, I get tired of the chain hotels. This hotel has great architectural significance. It also has a good bar/restaurant. Food was good and the hotel staff was professional and friendly.
Cons: Rooms were not updated, but they were large and clean.

Overnight business travel

Posted Oct 19, 2016
Location: Did not venture out.
Overall a nice hotel with great ambience. Foyer is beautiful and with a little bit of attention would be magnificent. The hotel bar/restaurant has a decent menu and good food if you just want to hang back after a day of travel. The morning breakfast is ok, but lacking fruit.

This hotel is historically old, but has character. It is very clean and comfortable despite the older appointments and architecture. Certainly hope that it flourishes!

Great location to the Stanley.....

Posted Oct 14, 2016
Pros: rooms, parking, location, breakfast buffet.....
Cons: a more inviting bar area.....
Location: The Stanley and a couple of nice restaurants/bars-Swifty's and Bella Regina....
We spent one night after going to a show at the Stanley-Room was great, check-in was fast and parking was easy. The downtown area was right out the door. The Hotel lobby, was I'm sure, was very Grand in it's day. We were told that a major chain had purchased the building and planned to restore it back to it's former glory. The bar could of benefited with a T.V. or maybe some music???? It was a little depressing. There was a included breakfast buffet that was a pleasant surprise. A very nice night away to see a great show......
