It's a scam.

This hotel is charging 4-star prices for 1-star, unsanitary accommodations. There was a pubic hair stuck to my shower head when I checked in. The carpet in my room was packed with dirt, dust, and dozens of stains. The furniture had chips and cracks, and it was covered in a visible layer of dust, too. The towels were stained. The wall had weird drippy stains. The air conditioning vent was, like everything else, covered in dust. My throat was sore by check-out day. Sometimes they gave me 3 towels for the day, sometimes 4. They didn't refill the toiletries if I only used 1/2 a bottle; they just put it back in the row. When I used a glass for water, they didn't wash it, they just put it back in place. They didn't replace the sheets. They didn't always take out the trash. What did they do when they cleaned? My feeling is: this place is losing money and trying to pinch pennies everywhere it can. There is an empty minibar in the room -- yes, empty! You have to ask for the items you want, get charged, then have your drink. In the meantime, you get a mini-fridge that isn't quite cold enough to store food safely. Their "business center" is a computer and printer in the corner. If you want to print more than one page, you need permission and they charge you. Breakfast is €20. Delicious bread, yogurt, sausages, bacon, cheese, and mini muffins. They have a machine that makes nice euro-size espresso drinks. That was good. And the lobby was pleasant. But seriously: don't come here.

Concerning your comments about the business center, printing is free of charge till 15 pages, we had some troubles with the printer but they are solved now. The Hotel is equipped with minibar, they cool a little but are no fridges. Thank you for the sent picture, the stains are indeed not good, it are bleach stains unfortunately this cannot be removed anymore. At this moment we started the renovation of a sample room which is ready next Monday (31.07.2017) and the full renovation is starting in November. My sincere apology for your negative experience. Good location, close to the train station.

Good overall. Utrecht is a small city and it's easy to walk around from the hotel to city center.

Good hotel in a temporary construction zone

There is a lot of construction in the area around hotel and the hotel itself is also older yet still comfortable and gracious. They have a great restaurant and bar. The hotel is very close to Utrecht train station, very close to down town Utrecht and shopping and restaurants. The best thing about the hotel is its great staff. They are very nice and go the extra mile to support and help you. A good operation.

Great stay, just could have had more than one person working on reception at any one time as it meant if you were behind someone checking in it was a bit slow.

The hotel is in a great location for Utrecht and Utrecht train station. However there is a drug centre next door so you can expect druggies outside the hotel. As for the rooms, they are dirty as ****!

Convenient location near station

Pros: Good location
Cons: The works surrounding the hotel make for a hazardous walk from the station.
Location: All restaurants and bars are close by as is the station.
I have stayed in this hotel several times as it is convenient for the station and the town centre. The reception staff are very good and helpful. The rooms are OK but need renovation.

Don't be taken in by the plush advertising picture

Not sure how this hotel is rated 4 star. The mini bar in our room was totally empty. The room was only equipped for 2 people (even though we booked for 3 people, and were charged an extra Eur 40 per night for that person to have a bed). Tea and Coffee was supplied, but no milk, and we were told when asking for milk that no one takes milk in tea. There was a stomach churning sewage smell throughout the ground floor ( including the bar area) and in the lifts.

Close to downtown but construction around hotel

Good hotel in walking distance of Utrecht Central Station and downtown. Last part of walking path to hotel can be confusing, especially when you're not used to cross heavily used bicycle paths (both directions zip by). This is due to construction around the train station and the hotel. Staff was superfriendly and very accommodating. I had to make two separate bookings for two consecutive nights because of last minute change in travel plans. Staff made sure I could stay in the same room, very convenient. Lobby had a nasty smell (sewer? Due to construction and storms?). Smell was not in room, neither in restaurant area. Room was spacious, good bed and linens, bathrobe. Good shower, hot. No bath tub. Little outdated and rundown carpet, but they are renovating rooms. Stayed for two nights. Bed was made after first night, got new bottle of water but my towels on the floor weren't replaced (I didn't sign up for the environment program they have: discount or donation to good cause when you want cleaning services skipped during your stay. Good initiative by the way!) I had double towels as I traveled alone so decided not to make a fuss about it. Buffet-style breakfast was good, but price is little bit steep IMHO (20 euros). Guess I've gotten used too much to the motels and hotels with free breakfast in the USA ;)
