Convenient with excellent staff

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: The staff, location, and cleanliness.
Cons: Breakfast.
My sister and I stayed here for a couple days on a Colorado vacation. The location is in the middle of everything and can't be beat. The staff was the best and the small parking garage was a nice bonus. The room was simple, elegantly decorated, and very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. Our room overlooked the pool and we never heard any noise from it. The breakfast was a little dismal, but there are so many great places to eat nearby that it didn't really matter. We were very happy with this hotel.

Nice Hotel on the Pedestrian Plaza

Posted Aug 5, 2015
Pros: Location, staff
Location: Many restaurants and shops located nearby.
Hotel is very conveniently located on the pedestrian plaza in Vail just past the checkpoint. Parking underneath building was tight, but workable. Hotel room was nice and clean. Hotel has restaurant and there are many other eating choices on the plaza. Staff was very friendly.

Nice hotel in heart of Vail.taurants

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: Location, location and quiet.
Location: Golf and Gerald/Betty Ford Amphitheater and Alpine Gardens.
Great location, but needed directions to find. Parked car and didn't use it until we left. Very nice walking paths with outstanding views. Numerous restaurants/entertainment just steps away. About only two bad experiences were: 1) Oyster sauce at I believe it was called American Standard (try Tavern on the Creek) and 2) Hard to find Bloody Mary's early mornings. Very restricted traffic in Vail village so safe for walking and children to ride/play. Patio experiences are hard to beat in summer.

We loved the Sitzmark!

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: Everything!
Cons: This is not a brand new hotel and not a Ritz-Carlton. Its not five-star perfection but an excellent value and feels like a quaint European Inn.
We had such a great experience at the Sitzmark. The location is right in the heart of the village so we could come and go without moving our car. It is located in a walking-only area so the free underground parking was so valuable! The lobby was really nice and inviting. Staff were awesome/friendly/welcoming. We loved the free breakfast every morning with fresh make-your-own waffles. The pool and jacuzzi were a plus. Views from our balcony made us feel like we were in a European village. Back of hotel is along beautiful river. Rooms were nicely updated.

We have stayed before and we will be back

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Small and comfortable
Location: Right in the village
Jenifer was very welcoming. Vail was quiet during this visit--which is perfect!! The Stitzmarck is comfortable as a slipper. It is central to the village and a short walk to Lion's Head. I look forward to returning.

The family owns The Sitzmark and still runs it. They care about it as though it is their own home. It is charming, clean, and a wonderful place to stay. You also can't beat the free parking and WiFi in Vail, especially considering how close you are to the center of town and river.
