Little worn in places but lovely over all.

I was surprised by the hotel's noticeable aging. Carpets were faded, with fibers pulled in places and needing to be tightened in others. Plaster was cracked and poorly patched. Woodwork was faded and water damaged, especially in the bathroom area. Faucets and towel warmers were dated brass. Pillows were heavy and uncomfortable. The path from the lobby to the room involved going up one floor in the elevator, walking nearly the length of the building and then going down two floors, very awkward. But the staff was enthusiastically friendly and helpful. Fresh fruit and coffee was available in the lobby, all day. Food and beverages were some of the best I have had. There couldn't have been more impressive views. The room was spacious and had a gas fireplace. Live Christmas trees and garlands, throught the lodge, were beautifully decorated, and the hotel was amazingly quiet, whether in the lobby with its massive fireplace or in the restaurant. There is an old world charm about this place that made up for the somwhat aging appearance. I would gladly stay here again, even without updating.

We're aware that our property is showing its age, however, I'm thrilled that you were impressed with our exceptional staff and the delicious offerings in our restaurant Mirador. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back to The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera again in the future. Thank you.
