Last days of a hotel

Posted Feb 25, 2017
Pros: Location, hot pool, steam room
Cons: Investment to keep up the infrastructure
Location: a perfect place after a ski day in Vail or BC
We spent 4 nights in the last week before closing (Change of ownership, new plans as a REHABcenter) - and this could be seen (infrastracure hadn't been invested in the last years) and felt (service must have been much better years ago) - what remained untouched: the Location with incredible sights, an awesome sky full of stars and silence all around. To bad this place doesn't continue as a Hotel, but if you don't want to invest to keep the place up (and they didn't obviously the last years not very much - then it is better to close it down.

Sad ending

Posted Feb 15, 2017
Pros: Beautiful setting
Cons: Nothing, it's closing
Location: Skiing, shopping, dinning
We were excited to return to the hotel where we were married. Disappointed to learn that the hotel is closing at the end of February. This once stunning property is far from its heyday. The carpets, furnishings and general condition are past their prime. The staff was friendly and accommodating but there is little they can do to stop the inevitable. I would not stay here until you want one last nostalgic pass through a once great property.

The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera

Posted Feb 15, 2017
Pros: Private location.
Cons: Remodel the building and get it cleaned up.
Location: Nothing.
The place is closing at the end of Feb 2017. I got a great rate but the buildings and service need a complete overhaul.

Going out of Business -- Do Not Stay Here

Posted Jan 17, 2017
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: It should be removed from Expedia's offering immediately.
The hotel is going out of business on 2/28/17 and it certainly shows. The hotel is understaffed, the two rooms we were in were not properly cleaned, and it is certainly not a high end hotel at the moment. In addition, on the one night we stayed there, our fire place filled our room with smoke from some other room's fire place (we didn't have a fire going) and we were forced to stay in a different room (which also was quite dirty).

Past its prime but still enjoyable. Closing 2017?

Posted Dec 27, 2016
Pros: Decent amenities, quiet, can be romantic. Clean rooms even if a little outdated.
Cons: Some staff should wait on customers first and in order but other staff were great. Better food quality at the restaurant.
Location: Beaver Creek 20 minutes away. Vail 30 minutes away. It takes a little time to get to the lodge from the interstate but worth the solitude.
The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera was probably really nice at one time but it seems to be losing its luster. We stayed in mid-December, which was dead (and appealed to us to avoid crowds). Since it wasn't quite in season we received a fantastic deal. The facility is beautiful if just a little dated. They have some nice amenities, including indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs. We went to the bar for food and drinks one night only and were unimpressed. The Sicilian pizza appeared to have been french bread with some toppings and a ton of cheese....nothing inspiring but maybe it was because it was still off season. Dining room staff were bored and let us know the place was to close in February 2017 but they didn't mention why. Our curiosity yielded a search on the internet which stated the place will close in February 2017 and be turned into a rehab facility. One issue we did have was one morning the front desk clerk decided to chat with some people behind us instead of waiting on us first, which, if you're anxious to get out on the slopes to enjoy the precious few hours to do so could be very infuriating. These people didn't seem to be staying at the hotel which made us even more disappointed. Other staff were enjoyable and friendly. No one asked how our stay was when we left, though. Despite its potential closing I'd recommend this place if it is competitively priced.
