Last days of a hotel

Posted Feb 25, 2017
Pros: Location, hot pool, steam room
Cons: Investment to keep up the infrastructure
Location: a perfect place after a ski day in Vail or BC
We spent 4 nights in the last week before closing (Change of ownership, new plans as a REHABcenter) - and this could be seen (infrastracure hadn't been invested in the last years) and felt (service must have been much better years ago) - what remained untouched: the Location with incredible sights, an awesome sky full of stars and silence all around. To bad this place doesn't continue as a Hotel, but if you don't want to invest to keep the place up (and they didn't obviously the last years not very much - then it is better to close it down.

Sad ending

Posted Feb 15, 2017
Pros: Beautiful setting
Cons: Nothing, it's closing
Location: Skiing, shopping, dinning
We were excited to return to the hotel where we were married. Disappointed to learn that the hotel is closing at the end of February. This once stunning property is far from its heyday. The carpets, furnishings and general condition are past their prime. The staff was friendly and accommodating but there is little they can do to stop the inevitable. I would not stay here until you want one last nostalgic pass through a once great property.

The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera

Posted Feb 15, 2017
Pros: Private location.
Cons: Remodel the building and get it cleaned up.
Location: Nothing.
The place is closing at the end of Feb 2017. I got a great rate but the buildings and service need a complete overhaul.

This is one my favorite places to stay! The lodge is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Always a friendly staff and a great restaurant.

The hotel really showed its age. It was worn, though we were informed that renovations are planned. Website showed shuttle to skiing, but that was not running. Restaurant closed at 9 pm, and no food available after that. No water pressure first morning. Breakfast was not that great, more average, but expensive.

Slice of Heaven

Posted Feb 13, 2017 on Hotels
Slice of heaven! I will admit, I am very picky. The Cordillera was not the ritziest place I've stayed, yet there was something about it from the moment I arrived. Aside from the location, breathtaking mountain views, my entire weekend was blissful. Although I was only there for 2 nights, I felt completely comfortable and at home immediately. Management & Staff were incredible, they worked side by side as team, or more like a family... one staff member even brought his incredibly friendly dog with him to work. I heard the Cordillera was closing soon after I left. What a shame if this is true!

End of an era

This hotel will close at the end of February 2017. It's a great place and I've enjoyed my stays this year and in the past. Very accommodating staff.
