The hotel doesn't have a front desk, the staff will check you in in the middle of the aisle, not a good experience. The staff during the checkout did not speak English. The front desk staff at the dinner restaurant (Brasserie) was very rude

Worth a second visit
Pleasant hotel but suffers from trying to be lots of things at once. Hotel, holiday gites, riding school, etc. The staff were pleasant and helpful if not very experienced. The restaurant concept was part self service, part served and not very relaxing or efficient. the food itself was OK. The room was comfortable and clean. They are still building and renovating (e.g. the pool) so worth a second try if en route.

The Chateau itself was beautiful. Great place to relax. Offers a French country experience. The sofa bed was not comfortable. Bedrooms are bit dated. Breakfast is delicious.

The hotel is misrepresenting itself on the website. The building pictured is not where the rooms are based. I found the facilities outdated and nowhere near 4 star. It was more like 2 star so it is very overpriced.

Not a 4 star hotel. Its clearly still under refurbishment & shouldnt be allowing guests to stay as there's exposed wires hanging from the ceiling. Even though the rooms were complete they still had a very dated feel to them & very small. The main house & restaurant was manic adults & children serving themselves drinks from the bar & again very dated. The service is non existent in this part of the hotel. I asked the manager if the outside lights could be put on in the childrens play area as it was beginning to get dark & he advised me that all outside lights had to be switched off at 8pm? A real shame generally as the location is perfect for a stop off on route to Calais. The only positive experience was breakfast where the two staff serving were helpful & served good food.

I expected a proper double bed a queen at least.Two twin beds put together to make a double wasn’t as comfortable to sleep in the middle of it. The place was very quiet and beautiful. The staff were very helpful and caring. On the whole it was excellent! I fully recommend Novotel Chateaux de Maffliers.

We had a good stay at Novotel Chateau. It wasn’t above and beyond exceptional but there were no real problems with our stay. The only thing that was misleading is, from the photos, I thought we were staying I the actual chateau part. The hotel rooms are located in a separate building and the “chateau” hosts most of the amenities. It’s a short walk to get to the chateau. That was a little disappointing but still not a bad stay.

The hotel rooms were clean and tidy, reception staff were friendly and breakfasts were delicious. The restaurant staff were not helpful and not particularly friendly. The food was ok but overpriced. Tennis courts are a mess, unplayable. Pool is ok, changing rooms desperately need some tlc. The outdoor badminton and table tennis a bonus.

When we checked in the receptionist told us the room was only suitable for 2 adults (we had booked 3 adults & a child). After speaking to the manager she informed us that the room was suitable for 4! The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. We were supplied with one tea bag for a 3 night stay. The sauna wasn’t working & the food options in the restaurant were terrible. This showed as not one night did we see someone eat there. The only plus side was the room was clean

Clean comfortable rooms, very much a standard novotel. The chateau part is really only used for meeting space. Not too far from the airport with a car if you are looking for a place. Great breakfast.

We pre-booked this as a 2 night stop over on a french trip based on the photos of the hotel and the pool. The photos are very deceiving, the chateau is not used for rooms (resto, bar, room and functions) and the pool is no wider than 3 metres. That said the reception staff were friendly, but ill-equipped for customers with allergies. On both days we had no gluten free bread, de-caf tea or lactose free milk. Restaurant food was ok but service slow. Grounds of the hotel are beautiful and bikes are available to go exploring in the forest.

Fabulous Oasis - Perfect
This hotel was a lovely surprise. It was a late booking while we were heading North. It is in its own grounds, fantastic facilities for children (outside table tennis and badminton and pool table indoors as well as a small swimming pool), very clean comfortable modern air conditioned rooms. Really beautiful setting...very good value for money and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Lovely stay
We had a lovely stay for our first family trip to France. The location is lovely and the surroundings are beautiful. The rooms are clean and for the price we cannot complain. Really good value for money. The staff on reception were really helpful and friendly and helped us with information on trains and places to visit.
