This hotel is a bit off the beaten path in Zermatt, but the attention to detail makes it worth it. The rooms are immaculate and tastefully decorated. Turn down service in the evenings was an unexpected and thoughtful touch. The spa, including a hot tub/whirlpool, steam room, saunas and a zen room are great for relaxing after a long day of activity.
The food in the restaurant is second to none. The breakfast buffet includes traditional European options in addition to a self-serve egg station with bacon catering to more Western tastes. The Chef's daily tasting menu for dinner was exceptional.
The staff from the time we arrived until we left was friendly and helpful. The owners of the hotel clearly take pride in making sure guests enjoy their stay, and visit the table of each guest at dinner for a quick chat. The hotel provides options for specialized pillows, including synthetic for allergy sufferers.
